do you mean it has every single patch & file exactly the same as it was already in v2 or do you mean it's similiar stuff with similiar use cases but not identical?

In most likelihood, it's similar stuff with similar use cases. On the vi forum, when asked whether Atlantis 1/2 should be deleted, the library creator does mention that it replaces Atlantis 1 & 2 but nothing beyond that. Anyway, this is an amazing library. Thanks, Philos! This one is definitely on my buy list.

Edit: The first demo video on this page at the 0:45 mark does mention that this library "contains all content from Atlantis 1 and 2". Hmmmmmmm

have you checked this? where does it state that V2 and V1 are obsolete?

There can be confusion because there's tons of Ethera Gold products, for instance, Ethera Gold 2.5

yes there is, there's a pdf that walks you through the installers, etc. This is one of the newer ones that they include installers for Kontakt 7 images, snapshots, etc.

the manual instruct to install like this:
click the cog icon on kontakt (buttom left)
add the main folder of the library, the folder name must be - Zero-G Ethera Gold Atlantis 3
after that you can install the 2 exe files to enable the presets & image
