I remember how I was excited when many years ago some Korg Kronos, Andromeda, Virus etc. libraries came up. I was naive, thinking it could replace the hardware to some extent. And obviously it doesn't. All of these kinds of libraries are mostly useless and HDD consuming. No shots at Talula, he makes a wonderful job in here.

So let's get one thing straight.

Are these samples of an authentic Akai AX73, from real vintage analog hardware?

Or did someone sample the software synthesizer called Martinic AX73, which is not even a true circuit-level simulation of a real synth, it's just an approximation?

Because if it's the latter... burn it with hellfire. This is literally an attempt to keep presets as trade secrets. Preset DRM.

Yeah we're at this point now. Apparently you can only use 'designer sounds' of VSTs if they're ROMPlers! NO THANK YOU.

isn't that what most/all sample libraries are from sampled from though are actual vsts or hardware producing those sounds? I would assume sampling 20Gb and creating the Kontakt libraries is still a lot of work but it does seem outlandish to create a Kontakt version that is extremely limited, that represents their own VST version
