NEW! CINEMATIC STUDIO WOODWINDS
Cinematic Studio Woodwinds is the latest addition to the Cinematic Studio Series collection. Whether you want to blow the roof off with the bright penetrating sound of the piccolo, express emotion with the beautiful lyrical oboe, or vibrate the floor with the deep and powerful bass clarinet, these superb instruments bring warmth and vitality to your orchestral template. They perfectly complement the rest of the series: the Strings, Solo Strings, Brass and Piano.

INTUITIVE, EASY-TO-USE INTERFACE
At the heart of Cinematic Studio Woodwinds is its intuitive and efficient GUI. This means one patch per instrument, easily assignable keyswitches and MIDI CCs, and a full mixer with output routing options plus reverb. To save memory, articulations can be loaded in or out of RAM with a couple of clicks. As the layout is functionally the same as for Cinematic Studio Strings and Brass, these features and many others are all accessible via the main GUI page.

BROAD PALETTE - SOLOISTS AND SECTIONS
To record Cinematic Studio Woodwinds we used a marvellous selection of top-tier players to capture the full range and character of each of nine solo instruments and four sections. Whether you want the fine detail of a soloist, or the warm collaborative synergy of our two-player sections, we recorded the full dynamic range to harness both nuance and power. Every instrument was treated equally, including the piccolo, cor anglais, alto flute, bass clarinet and contrabassoon.

VERSATILITY AND REALISM
CSW features a range of articulations including playful short notes, expansive textures with flutter-tongue and trills, and a stunningly realistic legato engine. We spent countless hours recording true long-form legato transitions for each note, resulting in unparalleled realism. Because we've kept an authentic, human element in the sound you'll feel like you're in the room with the players. Every sample was tuned by ear, and carefully edited and programmed to ensure a delicate balance between consistency, playability and realism.

FULLY MIXED - LOAD AND PLAY
We used a variety of beautiful ribbon and condenser microphones to record Cinematic Studio Woodwinds at four mic distances: Close, Overhead, Main and Room, which you can combine to create your own mix inside Kontakt or via the output-routing option. Alternatively, you can use our ready-to-go mix position that contains all four mics in a stereo mix if you want a great sound with fewer resources. A Full Ensemble patch will be released as an update in the near future.

COMPATIBLE WITH FREE KONTAKT PLAYER
Cinematic Studio Woodwinds is fully compatible with the free Kontakt Player, and will work as a standalone product with no need to purchase additional software. CSW is also designed for use with the new exciting range of NKS Keyboards.

UPDATE: Cinematic Studio Woodwinds v1.3
We're excited to bring you the first update Cinematic Studio Woodwinds - CSW v1.3. This is a substantial update that not only fixes a couple of issues present in the first release but also includes some wonderful new features and improvements to the library.

WHAT'S IN IT
Firstly, both Solo Flute and Solo Alto Flute articulations are now working correctly across all microphones. In addition we've added a powerful new feature, the "Low Latency" legato mode. With all the realism, and none of the delay, this mode can dramatically cut down on sequencing time and editing, allowing you to create more expressive, agile and playful melodies with ease.

The regular delayed legato is still there however, and has also been improved, making it more realistic and easy to achieve flowing, human-sounding phrases than ever before. We have renamed this legato mode to "Expressive", which you will see on the main GUI. Both of these modes can be selected with the velocity-sensitive functionality of the keyswitch, which is C0 by default. Press it at a velocity of 0-64 to select Low Latency mode, or 65-127 for Expressive.

We have also refined the tuning on a number of instruments, particularly the upper register of the solo flute. This makes doubling with other instruments like the oboe sound tighter and more polished all round. Additional tuning tweaks will be included in subsequent updates on an ongoing basis.

Other improvements have been made to the x-fading between non-vibrato and vibrato samples, and to the dynamic x-fading - especially on Marcato; there is better volume matching of the release samples to the sustains; and we also added a subtle accent to isolated sustains notes and legato repetitions played above a velocity of 64.

HOW DO YOU GET IT?

Due to the complexity of the update itself, it was necessary for us to "repackage" the library, which unfortunately means you'll need to re-download the entire library again.

Prior to downloading, you'll need to delete your current "Cinematic Studio Woodwinds" folder entirely, and then replace it with the new one, in the same location. By downloading it to the same location, that will mean you will be able to continue using the library without issue.

If you are currently in the middle of a project, we recommend NOT updating immediately. The easiest option would be to wait until you've finished any existing projects containing CSW. The reason for this is that Kontakt patches are saved within a DAW's project file - this means that any projects saved prior to updating will contain the old patches. Therefore after updating, if you wish to continue working on any projects saved prior to installing the update, please make sure you reload any CSW patches used.

What are the minimum system requirements?
- Windows 7+ or macOS 10.10+, Quad Core CPU, 16GB RAM, 105GB hard drive space.
- Keyboard controller with mod wheel required.
- Kontakt 5.8.1 or Kontakt Player 5.8.1 is also required.
- Cinematic Studio Woodwinds should be used with a fully 64-bit system.
