Does anyone actually run their drums through Kontakt, as their go-to? I know that some people do, *sometimes, and I do, *occasionally, but as a go-to for drums? With MPC, Maschine, Poise, Nuance, saying nothing of the beast that Studio One's Impact has become, you're going to make a drum pack exclusive to Kontakt?
I don't know why they can't just put out sample packs with Kontakt as a format option like so many other companies do. It's frustrating because I do like a lot of P2FS's packs, they're quality, it would just be nice to be able to get under the hood so as to have more options. Anyway....
Thanks for the heads-up on this one, Strike.

Sometimes, it's all about getting the sound in the first place.

Yeah, but it's just a tedious process that destroys workflow. Haha, I guess it's still not as bad as one company who I grabbed a pack from (who shall remain unnamed since I can't speak on the quality of the rest of their packs; maybe the one I got was a fluke,) that actually had about 6-8 seconds of silence for each one-shot....and I don't mean tail/reverb-dying-out "silence," it was just poorly edited; so, what should have been a 200-300MB pack clocked in at 1.4GB. Dumb.

I think (at least in this instance) his weapon of choice is kontakt because the kits he releases are multi-sampled and he wants his kits to be immediately playable. Its not like he's just throwing a sample on this key, another on this key, etc. He is specifically stacking different hits and velocities to give his drum kits more realism. At least thats my take on it.

But I agree with you, it is nice to have the sounds and be able to create your own kit in the engine of your choice. And yes.. Impact! Shlept on like a mF! lol
Salute.

FWIW, I have other Past2Future releases that I've purchased and in nearly all of his kits he actually does include all of the samples in a .Wavs folder. Maybe since this one was a freebee? Not sure lol.
