The Korg M1 is a 16-voice, 8-part multitimbral sample-based synthesizer and music workstation, manufactured by Korg from 1988 to 1995.
Outselling the Yamaha DX7 and Roland D-50, the M1 became the top-selling digital synthesizer of its time.
This Kontakt version contains 855 samples totalling 9GB in size with up to 8 velocity layers.

9 gb for 12 sampled M1 patches/combis. Seriously? I mean why would you multisample the M1?

You might not be aware but Korg themselves already realeased the M1 as a VSTi for a fraction of the HD space requested by this library. And of course, it comes with all the sound cards you would ever wish to use. I'm not even talking about the sound quality which is obviously top notch (have a listen by yourself).

I don't think so. We know that Korg Legacy M1 sounds great, and I cannot imagine that they've sampled every single patch from every expansion.
Also, apparently they have not rebuilt the M1 synth engine in Kontakt, otherwise the library would be much, much smaller than 9GB.

After "KORG M1 v1.8.0-R2R" and "KORG M1 Collection"
I don't know if after the softwares mentioned above, that have the same gene as the M1 itself, by the way, it is the best thing I've seen in virtual keyboards these years, include "T series expansions". I don't know if it's very smart to sample several layers, since the original design of M1 is much simpler than this and your simple PC has a much better processing than the original M1 itself.
I have the original small Korg M1 module, and I assure you that the sound is exactly the same of virtual ones of just '57.35 MB'.
