Thanks for all the uploads of course.

However, I am always wondering as to whether or not any particular Kontakt instrument requires an authorization or not when one is using a legit copy of Kontakt.
It'd be great if that was put into the upload description. My rule of thumb has been any instrument more than a few GB's generally requires authorization. But it'd be nice to know that if I d/l'd something this size whether it'll simply run or be unusable and trashed

I Think I get what your saying in that perhaps all libraries need to be cracked?
I'm afraid I'm not savvy to the technical side of all this.

What I'm saying is there's been a ton of Kontakt instruments uploaded here that simply open up and work without any authorizing for legit kontakt owners (me being an example of) whereas some when opening ask for authorization, in which case I just wind up throwing away as can't be used.

The main reason I notice seems to be that the bigger and more expensive the instrument, the manufacturer has bothered to copy protect it. That, or the instrument is an officially partnered/licensed instrument with NI that will demand an authorization code as well.

This works just fine with legit copies as these are Kontakt files (.nki/nkm) and not a 3rd party NI Library which use locked .nkc files.

Still curious though. I assume those instruments uploaded that are .nkc and need authorization, those with cracked copies of Kontakt have a way of using them then, yes?

I guess then that's what would be useful perhaps. Signifying in the description whether an instrument contains nkc, nki or nkm files.
