Of cause also free users can download...But for uploaded.to for example, they dont have resumeability in free mode...so if for what reason ever a download is interupted you have to start all over again. Rapidgator requires 3 hours break before next download. Uploaded sometimes simply stops the download after 300MB and asks you to wait 2 hours...and because of their stupidness regarding the impossibility to resume download you are double fucked by them! And after all the question is: WHY? If "Fantastic" (what he definetely isnt) would be fair he would choose uploadrocket.net ... They also offer affiliate money option + acceptable speed for free users. Its simply complete ignorance not to make an account there.

well it's not. there was a case back in the days when 90% of posts here at AudioZ were using FileSonic, and when FileSonic was gone, AudioZ was practically dead.

you can't choose primary FFS by googling "Best File storage". it has to have history, it has to have affiliate program, it has to be tested for a long time.

for instance, i like AlfaFile (made by RG), Sunny likes NitroFlare, but that doesn't mean a crap because they are not popular yet.

Yes, the poll simply ignored a lot of sharehosters. The result was simply driven by monetary interests. And last but not least the poll was more than 2 years ago.

here at AudioZ i'm doing my best to maintain the golden middle - you can get everything for free, but for christ's sake you can't expect it to be delivered on a silver plate to your doorsteps. fucking wake up! many other sites directly ask their members to pay for a membership, and yet here you are, complaining that you can't pause your downloads... ridiculous

You dont even try to change anything. You only think of what can bring the most benefit for yourself. Thats asshole behaviour. I remember when you tearfully begging me to ask SAINT to give you back your constributor status... Never believed your story you need the affiliate money for supporting your inmobile father! Sooner or later karma will fuck you!

I see both sides, and have respect for both. Obviously some of the releases here would not be unless the providers were able to recoup on purchased products, so "reputable" paid links and asking to lock exclusives (regardless of the fact they end up elsewhere often) is not egregious.

I remember when there was the discussion about which paid link sites were robust/stable enough to make the decorum for release. And perhaps that should be revisited if it has been awhile. But the hotfile days etc, we have all been burnt, ..UL and RG at least appear to be stable. As I am NOT someone who tries to make money off links, I cannot testify to the merits or demerits of some of the new sites....

I have had paid UL accounts at times, and it is obviously awesome when you do. And I too have been in lukehh's and Sinewaves position where I have been 4 hours into a download and a connection loss has screwed the process, and due to some ridiculous stuff at UL etc, have definitely rained on my parade. And I get pissed too....absolutely.
And the good points made by Sinewave about proper packaging etc are dead on ( )..

But I kinda write it off as the "cost of doing business"... It's really hard to complain about what you get for free that works, well, way more then most of the time. Daz offered some great solutions, and I think there are others, and it might be nice if someone made a coherent FAQ on that... it would be proactive.

Anything proactive though I think is warranted conversation, even if in my personal beliefs, the way this is being handled is kinda poor with some people making personal attacks and whatnot... I guess that comes with the territory, but there should be a better way to conduct ourselves...

The Golden Middle i think has been defined, keeping members supplied, suppliers somewhat compensated for shares, a good experience for all members regardless of status, with editorial commentary and assistance being welcomed to newcomers and old timers alike.. and whats best for the majority of members being respected WITHOUT disrespecting the minorities... and trying to keep the place respectful in general.

I agree with lukehh in that the "This affiliate money thing has become an real income to some of them. And thats definetely not what it should have be. But OK, the phrase "dont make money with warez" doesn't mean ****"... That's why we see the leech link barnacles pop up on any thread that doesn't have "exclusive" on it.....

I'm aware I don't know anything (paraphrase Socrates), but I do know there is a lot of undercurrents of underhanded stuff going on at times... and wish that wasn't the case, but I know when internet ego's and money are involved etc, that is going to happen. And in the past that has led to losing some very valuable members of our community here. I'm no hippie, and I know it's not a "why can't we just all get along" kinda thing.. But there is a better way. and in my experience here, over the years, from my friend Catalyst to Olymoon, and beyond, I have experienced nothing but at least returned respect for any point I may suggest or raise in PM's or on the threads. Can't say that about a lot of the other "open" sites.

I have a lot of friends here, (obviously some enemies as well :)), and I have lost a lot of friends here to other shores... and I wish them nothing but the best. I had hoped that audioz was returning to it's ethos of a helpful/positive/trusted source for testing/sharing either things and assistance... sometimes I see that, and other times, when I see people making low blows, .... well it's sad.

Perhaps this is better taken up in another post/thread..., with some of the issues of members being presented in a reasonable fashion rather then a flame war, that the mods can consider, and SAiNT can deliberate if adjustments in policy are needed with the changing times or not...
