Skinned is the eagerly awaited first sample library release from the Canadian Techno/Industrial/Noise band Skinny Puppy. This collection is for the over 18's only... Distortion, noise, metal, shock, horror, destruction, doom, warfare.. They are all here in abundance.

''Skinned" gives you the rare opportunity to access the private sample vaults of Skinny Puppy and what a worthwhile trip it is...The samples defy rational explanation, they are simply the hardest sounds you are ever likely to hear. Put your ear defenders on and sit back in your armchair ready for an aural assault... You'll not believe the aggression emanating from your speakers!

We have pulled back the skin and exposed Skinny Puppy naked for the first time.

Even if the samples were ultimate crap I bet the people would have used them a lot. And they are far from this. Have doubts it's really from "private collection" and not some random noises sampled by band members during one session just for laughs, but whichever it was it took some taste.

Always thought Zero-G was first basket type dev pretty much. Complete lack of dance samples on market, sample some led zeppelin CDs/films from VHS/etc without permission and everyone is happy. Inlay on Datafiles even said all rights are belong to Ed Stratton, unlike current site.

I simply wanted to upvote your meaningful comment, but I couldn't... SO, I'm saying my approval with a typed smile...

Some samples sounds like they used Fairlight for extra grittiness.
Most modern libraries with random noises did not sound "spontaneous" and "unpolished" like this one but just "processed". Like "hey, we're going to mash it up with granular synthesis so no one will ever notice".

Speaking of unpolished, datafiles despite its flaws has this quality too. Something that you can only find in pre-mp3 and pre-digital-"restoration" era.

By the way, there is another Skinny Puppy themed CD from Zero-G but the copy floating around the internet is mp3 upconvert. I even have suspicions that it was released by Zero-G like that.

I loved this library since I heard it because most of their samples fits perfectly for industrial music. Thank you Pirat!

Is this the CD version? I haven't downloaded it yet but I remember coming across this library on another site and the file names were different than the booklet and I think there was almost 60 missing samples. If this is the CD version or if someone has it and would be willing to share it, I'd greatly appreciate it
