Included on the disc are numerous snare, kick, and tom samples to fit almost any kind of rock, pop, and metal musical genres. All the of the sounds on Steven Slate Drums have been processed so that they will fit easily in a mix with little or no additional tweaking needed. Each sample set for each drum hit contains three room choices in the unique Z system.

Z1 samples are printed with a small amount of ambient micing giving a natural sounding, three dimensional drum hit.
Z2 stereo samples are processed with heavily compressed ambient mics making a larger then life, ambient sound.
Z3 samples are processed with no ambient micing and are very dry and aggressive sounding.

In each of the Z categories, the user can load multiple velocity hits, containing multiple hits per velocity, for an "ultra realistic" sound.

Steven Slate Drums is compatible with drum replacement software Drumagog.
