It ain't dodgy at all. Mega is the most secure host of them all! Fully encrypted, free 50 GB storage. Also extremely fast.

He is NOT safe at all. That site hijacted my PC and forged 90 files. The hard drive was wasted. Which is why I keep spare drives and clone my drives. Could not get online and could not reboot ... ban mega.co.nz ... if you've not heard from others its because they are busy reloading programs on their hard drives. Its not a safe site! Once bitten twice shy.

I'm surprised to see people saying Mega isn't safe. What's the deal, what makes you say that? It's sure nice and fast, so if it is workable it would be a good thing. Some solid info on what's going on would be helpful.

I just explained ... it hijacted my PC ... both my hard drive and SD were effected. I was able to recover most of the SD but the hard drive was not bootable. Mega showed an error several times (even as reported by others). Afterwhich could not get on line. Ran Kaspersky rootkit ... it immediately reported 90 key system files had been forged*. Hard drive would not reboot. So its either the site or the Audioz uploader had uploaded a rootkit. Believe what you will my PC was compromised from Mega.
*Forged file – when read by standard means, the original content is returned instead of the actual one

Sorry freud2000, you probably hit a scam of the actual Mega website or downloaded a virus or something. Theres nothing wrong with Mega and is actually the best Free Host available at the moment, meaning two things:
1 - Its damn fast ( i get download speeds as fast as my internet connection can handle), and im in South America.
2 - Its the most secure (all files are encrypted and only the uploader has the encryption keys, meaning not even FBI can get access to your files.)

So please stop bitching against Mega and get over it.

Well, just checked over my computer with both Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Avast scans, and not coming up with anything wrong. Maybe you have some unrelated problem going on? Will be interesting to see if anyone else posts with a problem similar to yours so that we see if it was duplicated.

I had read about some encryption-related concerns with Mega -- involving the encryption not being as secure as Dotcom claimed -- but nothing along the lines of malware off of the Mega site. I hope you are able to resolve the difficulties you're having.

And yes those reverb are from the TC 6000 Reverb. They are wonderful sweet gorgeous!!!
On the STN site you can hear the demos.

Again I encourage you in supporting the devs buying some originals since they are cheap as hell (yes the hell is cheap in case you are wondering...).
For example buy the missing reverbs from this collection from STN!

i cant comment on mega really, considering that the site does not function for me. in fact, i cant even get the page to load. after coming to the conclusion, that you have to have ALL security settings on your browser completely disabled to even get mega to load... Wont work in FF or IE, even with the most basic user configurable security settings applied, or lack thereof (default settings, in which DOM/HTML5 is fully enabled, allows mega to work). Instead, mega recommends *the most insecure* hipster browser that exists for functionality ...chrome (go figure)... so it can initiate some fucked up connection to "write" some data in a way different from every other secure encrypted site in the world that exists which works fine (HTML5 or not).

I started checking off my settings one by one to figure out exactly what security setting is preventing the site from loading, until i realized, that it wasn't worth it. someone else will just upload it to another hoster :)


also, the mega api is open, meaning anyone can develop for it... remember what happened (and is still happening) with fa$ebooks endless exploits due to their development api? open isn't always better, and it does not imply, nor mean security from any standpoint. another example (and I am sure many will disagree, but its been documented pretty well over the past few years - do research) linux, which is currently the #1 *open* exploited, and insecure platform that exists, both at the application level and operating system level (yes I know it *can* be secure - but thats besides the point). people dont care anymore about what "open" used to stand for. now its a free open book on how to fuck some stuff up, which is being fully utilized for all its worth.

Either the uploads or Mega ... this is all I accessed at the time of the infection. I do not recall if the infection was from the original or the corrected upload. Was too busy afterwards swapping out drives and recovering data. 'nough said ...

Well, i downloaded the same files from Scandi and from KRock and my computer is normal.
It was probably something else freud2000, i recommend installing a better suite of antivirus and firewall. (Kaspersky, Eset, etc)

Mega is fine and fast do not shill others with defame of Mega freud2000
probley some pron site you access gives you clap of hard drives
