just so im clear and understand. Moonshell and Ivory are "technically" the same thing minus a name change would that be correct?

100% correct. NI published and update stating "Due to a trademark concern, we’ve taken the decision to rename the instrument to Electric Keys – Moonshell. While the name has changed, the instrument itself remains 100% identical in every way."
