Haha, nah—subjectively "terrible" maybe, but these are perfect for my needs.
I've never understood why people think all snares have to sound like a perfectly mic'ed piccolo or pie, or why a kick has to sound like a pristine Champagne 22" or whateverwhatever.
Every sound is useful in the right context. I see these being useful for layering and creating unique timbers. You want studio perfect? Go hit Yurt Rock or That Sound.
