20-year-old olswel has earned the self-proclaimed title “Soundcloud Hero,” championing sounds from the once-dominant guard of 2010s electro-dubstep to modern underground rap: collaborating with producers’-favorite-producers like Syzy, Dilip, BNYX, and quickly, quickly, as well as crafting the backdrop for underground rap allstars like wstdyth, bear1boss, and most recently SahBabii. The Lucid Monday member has become a leader among a scene channeling their Massive-era EDM upbringings into Frankensteined new genres that dance on the edge of beauty and chaos.
‘fun and games’ is a playful throwback to the EDM soundtracks of 2010s killstreak comps, full of fundamentally fun and dirty clips and no-scope-worthy bass growls. Garish and exciting chord stabs and fills pay homage to complextro with the less-is-more mentality of trap production.
