Dark Intervals LDW 1973 KONTAKT-ohsie screenshot

We present you our first drums for Kontakt.
LDW 1973 is a vintage Ludwig kit combined with Zildijan cymbals.

Kit is recorded with 4 microphones using famous Glyn Johns technique.
Each kit element has a specific blend of all four mics exported in a single sample, to get
the best possible element sound.

This means that you cannot control each mic per element separately in processing.
This approach has limitations but gives you extremely fast workflow, because you have a mixer
with a fader per element.
In short, this approach gives you most optimal and efficient workflow with quick results.

All elements are sampled in 7 round robins.
Dynamic layers vary, depending on element.

For example, snare has 7 dynamic layers, kick has 6 and toms have 5.
We tried to reach the perfect balance between instrument size, natural sound and effective
workflow.

KIT ELEMENTS
KICK
SNARE
TOM 1
TOM 2
FLOOR TOM
HIHAT
CRASH
SPLASH
RIDE
COWBELL

Except these 4 mics blended into a single sample, each sample has been sent to external hardware
reverb unit (Bricasti M7).
You can add this layer of sound within our interface,
We call this "ROOM" in our interface, and it has dedicated control knob.

Room can be blended with original signal for each kit element separately, OR globally, for entire kit.
Adding room brings drum sound to life, adding an extra dimension of realism.
You can hear this in our audio demos, below.

Hey, thanks a lot Ohsie and Hidera for your share!

...But I still can't create a valid .nicnt with "Nicnt Maker":
"Add Library" doesn't recognize it, whatever I try.

Is there any solution? Reading the wise advice of Talula on AS I tried to rename the folder... but whatever I do (including edit manually the nicnt with notepad) is desperately non-working.

Thanks a LOT in advance for any tip / hint!
I'm alive!!! :D Isn't it astounding??? ;)

maybe that number already used by other library. You need to find the other libs that used it and delete every single remaining pieces of it everywhere, mostly in the Registry Editor. First make sure it's not NKI library. One more thing if you already generated the name (the failed attempt) there's also things you needed to clear up in the registry to free up the name. If you're lazy just name the library something else add "A" at the end with free nicnt number. It should work.

I love this libs. Have close to 1Tb of SD3 library and ended up using this simple library or 2 demo songs in a row now. I just love the hihat sound. I know they mentioned Zildjian but it reminds me of my 13" vintage Istanbul hihat I used to have 10 years ago. Sold it because I needed the cash for something else but this library reminds me of that. All those Istanbul hats in SD3 got nowhere close to this. Love it.
