This small sound library is released as a remembrance of one of the best and most famous developers, who produced many high quality free software synthesizers even though he only used SynthEdit for his work.

Next year it will be ten years since Günter Hager aka H.G. Fortune left us unexpectedly.

One of his most famous synthesizers was called Wheel Of Fortune, hence the name of this sound library.

Wheel Of Fortune : description

130 recorded presets from various free synthesizers made by Günter Hager.
Subsequently, all recorded samples were reworked to achieve different sounds:

Sixty-five sound sources for each layer.
Four special added sounds for a more noise effect.
Random function for random selection between the two layers.
Modulations of LP Cutoff, Volume and Pan for each layer.
FX Effects: Flanger, Stereo, Lo-Fi, Delay and Reverb.
Symbolic 60 presets (NKI + one INIT).
134 ncw files 24-bit - 48 000Hz (582 MB).
Ogg previews and tile for the possibility of using Kontakt 7.
Very light on RAM and CPU.
This sound library is suitable for ambient type music and contains some special atmospheric, granular and fizzy sounds.
It was produced in the full version of Kontakt 5.8.1.

It's a shame we don't get some of his better instruments here instead of endless repacks from the dawn of VST. H G Fortune's random patch generators were outstanding and his ideas madder than a box of frogs. Ten years. What a loss.

Thanks for drawing attention to this. HGFortune's creations were (are) outstanding for the field and type of music that they make and it is ever amazing that it's been so many years ago that he created them and generally gave his creations away.

I'd say they are still amazing to this day and often wonder just what his creations would be like today were he still around. Incredible, I'm certain.

I think this might be the thing that gets me back into using Kontakt after kicking the habit 5 or more years ago. This, along with the T.Conrardy (another, now gone, sound design great & personal fave) sound library from the same site just seem like something I must try so....I guess I have to get back on that horse.

It's also quite possible that I have been unadmitted in love with Vera herself as well for, I suppose decades. She's too cool. Eh, the Cat's out of the bag now.
