Would it be legal to sample 808 or 909 or basically any old drum machine and sell the processed samples? The information I've seen online seems split on a yes and no answer. if Whitenoise Records thinks it's okay to sell 909 samples (and various other packs that include 909 samples) does it mean I could sample those drum machines, process them ect, and include some in a pack to sell too? Sorry if this is not the place to post this kind of question but seeing this 909 post reminded me of this question I had.

yes you can, non need to worry.
It's just you can't sell it as original Roland TR 909 samples. Something like "Monster 909 sample pack" inspired by the legendary analogue machine, legally speaking, is good enough... and don't forget to use the original Roland TR909 color palette for the cover graphics, if you really want to be safe change colors just a little bit... not need to say you can't use original pictures from Roland.

Waiting for your product on here, please kick drums with long tail if possible.
