There's no copy protection, and I offer
a 30 day return policy. I guess now you
can check it out first.

It took about 6 months of work to create
this. The only way I can put that amount
of effort in is if people support the collection.
Trust me, there are a hell of a lot of things that
are more entertaining than hand editing and
mapping all these samples.

I have a beautiful 18 month year old daughter,
and it's cool to buy her some stuffed animals
and treats... she digs that stuff.

I guess I have different views. This is what I do for a living, how
I feed my family.

If you went to work, put in the six months time, and the boss stiffed
you on the checkf, if you walked away, you'd be a pussy with no honor.

It's not just data that appears magically on the internets, spewing from a
golden light in a cave. It's something that took a lot of money and time.
Taking people's work without pay is the same thing as slavery.

I don't agree this is the best form of advertising, at all. If I give KVR money
to run an ad, I see results the same day. 1,000 downloads hasn't produced a
sale in 2 days. So, actually, very ineffective advertising.

I thought the whole warez scene was about fighting copy protection...
The argument was "there's no demo... it's to hard to install... I like
to try before I buy".

So, I gave a demo, have no form of copy protection or watermarking,
and gave a 30 day, no questions asked return policy.

And you don't need to get paid to pay for something else. I don't get paid
to go see a movie, but I pay to see the movie. I don't get paid to play
videogames, but I'll buy the video game. I don't get paid to go see
a DJ or Live Act, but I'll pay to see the live act.

It's about enjoyment and value. Do you receive enjoyment and value
for the work and effort.

I would gladly release everything for free and live in an entirely socialist
environment if mine and my family's needs were met. If I could live
in an apartment or home for free. Get food for free, get gear for free.\

That'd be fucking awesome.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your view... people use money
to exchange value. Some people value somethings more than others, so
you have the freedom to choose what to spend your contribution to society
on.

I've tried once - when I was young - to enter for free at one Madonna concert. It was a very bad idea. Security guards caught me and locked me in a lodge. - You want to be paid by those 1000 (?) people who have DL your samples and enjoy them. That's logical.
- I'm saying if your samples weren't available here for free, it doesn't mean those 1000 people would have bought them. If this were the case, they would have already done it well before.

From a moral standpoint, you're right but from the financial one, you're wrong.

Talking about ad, considering i didn't released DMD and it's (like) totally can't be found on any torrent or warez site (according to google and all torrent trackers) , i presume it willmake few people buy DMD, at least order it and make you refound it, and maybe release it.

I'm looking for no excuses by the way, i'm just saying..

ps: I'm surprised you haven't been bombed by people ordering dmd and asking for refund..

This is the way the PHP/Wordpress plugin builder community does it - and honestly it might give you more dollaros on the bottom line - with mini payments that is.

Additionally, you will collect emails to folks who love your work - and would be able to send them an email when you have finished up recording the 808 or other strange machines :)

Use google adsense on your page and other click/pay adds, can't ask for the clicks because they will bann you but people who likes your stuff will click because they know why the adds are there...

Frankly, I appreciate Tonebuilder's brutal logic. The fact remains that he's engaging in a dialog with us, showing us respect. If he asks us to support him for a fantastic sound library...well...ahem...who are we to argue whether he deserves compensation.

I download a lot of stuff from various sites, but I'm good about paying for stuff that I like and use.

So, check your Share It account, Tonebuilder, I just ordered DRIVEN MACHINE DRUMS 1.5 for Maschine. Whether it's available for free elsewhere or not.

I`m 100% with Fragmatic one this one. I`m following the Olav Basoski Live tutorial from MacPro and this is one of the libs He uses in the tut.

Driven Drum Machines is a FANTASTIC sample lib and I expect no less from this one.

It`s easy to just keep clicking download but sometimes you gotta put a little thought behind that click. These Guys turn out incredible work and DESERVE finacial reward for their labours.

I too will be buying both DDM and HiFi 909 just as soon as Mrs Pilz lets me!!!
