REQ: That Sound Vintage Breaks

@ianhitsdrums is back for That Sound with their latest pack, Vintage Breaks. Featuring drum loops and one shots, this pack was designed to give you the access to yesteryears golden drum sounds and grooves for your creative pleasure and is a follow up to Ian’s successful pack, The Break Down.

All ‘room’ recordings (including ‘soundstage’) were captured with a two mic setup.

Ian used two mics and either a physical tape machine to recreate the sound of early Motown drums. To add another layer to the live room recordings, he then ran some of them through different samplers to really create some grit and give the loops some teeth.

Everything NOT labeled with ‘room/soundstage’ was recorded in Ian’s studio using a combination of vintage & modern drums, mixers, tape machines, samplers, plugins and mics.

The pack showcases a wide range of styles including slower swampy hiphop breaks, intricate angular broken beat, vintage Motown breaks, the classics we all know reimagined, as well as jungle and modern drum and bass. Each break has enough character and style to stand on its own but the intention is for these loops to be chopped and screwed into new original pieces.

This pack is only drums. The demo has melodic instruments in it to show the drums in context.
