REQ: JTC Guitar Speed Picking Concepts Masterclass

What’s it about?
Gus G is a true guitar legend and in his first Masterclass, he shares his approaches, warm-ups, and go-to shapes and sequences for alternate and economy picking.
Before you begin, Gus takes you through his tried and tested warm-ups to get the blood flowing. Once you’re loose and you’ve “woken up your brain”, you’re then met with a range of licks to hone in on the two central skills of this Masterclass.
Then we unleash. Gus delivers three solos; Epsilon, Department of Shred and Titan Thrash, and your challenge is to put what you’ve learnt to the test.
What will I learn?
With a focus on staying consistent, synchronising your hands and nailing smooth transitions, you’ll learn how to play fast lines with conviction.
As you tighten and accelerate your alternate and economy picking, you will also understand how Gus incorporates hybrid picking, string skipping and legato. There are odd-note groupings to contend with, which help you focus on picking directions.
From the 3-note per string ideas to the many minor pentatonic licks, what Gus teaches you isn’t just how to play fast, but how to play fast in the context of a ripping metal solo.
