Zebra Refrakt II: Dark & Expanded is a collection of 460 sounds for u-he’s ZebraHZ and Zebra2.
Refrakt II follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, focusing on hybrid, modern, cinematic sounds full of intrigue and drama. Through a judicious use of the multi-stage envelopes, distortion, compression and reverb, Refrakt II delivers sounds full of energy, grit and atmosphere.
The sound of Refrakt II is brimming with a blend of slippery analogue, grungy modular and flickering hybrid instrument tones and processes. With an emphasis on sequenced patches, this soundset is full of bass pulses, synth riffs and percussive loops, to provide a wealth of drive and rhythm. There’s also plenty of deep drum impacts, dynamic transition fx and delicious low end synths.
Inspired by the darkly creative, contemporary, hybrid scores of Lorne Balfe (Ambulance), Tom Holkenborg (Furiosa), Ludwig Goransson (Tenet), Tyler Bates (John Wick) and, Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow (Civil War); there are also tones and ideas influenced by electronic artists turned composers such as Photek, Hybrid, Raffertie and Toydrum, sneaking in some breakbeat and drum n bass vibes.
This ultimate expanded version of Refrakt II comes with an extra 160 variations of some of the original ZebraHZ patches; from subtle modulations to leftfield adaptations. This gives you a wider array of sonic inspiration, whilst retaining the spirit and mechanics of your favourite Refrakt II presets.
The Dark & Expanded version also includes the 150 remixed and reworked version of the original ZebraHZ patches for Zebra2 found in Zebra Refrakt II.
