REQ: Mogwai Audio Tools MEQ-1073 screenshot
A preamp equalizer audio plugin that emulates the harmonic tones generated by a sought after analog equalizer used extensively in the past and currently to add warmth and tone to audio recordings. Great to add a bit of extra drive where you need it!

The top EQ band controls a fixed shelf at 12 kHz. The midband controls a bell curve with selectable frequencies at .36, .7, 1.6, 3.2, 4.8, and 7.2 kHz. The low band controls a shelf with selectable frequencies at 35, 60, 110 and 220 Hz. The selectable high-pass filter can be set at 50, 80, 160 or 300 Hz. Each band offers +/- 16 dB of gain.

FEATURES FOR MEQ-1073 (A PREAMP EQUALIZER AUDIO PLUGIN)
Craft the sound to suit your audio.
-Push the signal to soft clip by increasing the input slider beyond zero dB. Subsequently, this will add in a subtle arctan wave shape soft-clipping which increases as the slider goes above zero dB. Therefore, this can be used to shape the output and introduce new sounds.
-The EQ has built-in Mid-Side processing capabilities and output gain and phase controls. Use the mid/side processing to create your own EQ blend. Perhaps the side channel needs more high-end or requires different settings. For example, a drum bus may require more high-end on the hi-hat and more low-end on the kick drum. Switching between mid and side enables a separate set of controls.
-Use the A-B comparison, so that different settings can be compared. The keep button resets the A-B functionality, so that current settings can be retained.
-Save your presets using the inbuilt preset functionality. The plugin ships with a selection of presets that can be used as starting points to create your own EQ.
-All plugins come with free updates, so please remember to subscribe to our mailing list to be notified of future updates.

This track demonsrates using the MEQ-1073 equalizer plugin on a vocal track. The first chorus section has the plugin bypassed, whereas the second chorus section has the plugin applied.

the last R2R release is problematic as a lot of freq selections of the EQs on atleast 3 plugins (550a, b & MEQ) all broken. Probably needed an update and bug fixing. Not sure why nobody mentioned it. If any team want to look it out, please test every freq selection on the EQs to make sure everything working correctly. The last R2R releases is pretty much unusable. Can't judge if it's good or not.

The keygen on that R2R release doesn't contain MEQ-1073 so that's the issue, it can't be registered

I see. I am testing them right now and they seem to work, all the frequency knobs do what they are supposed to do, I can hear them boosting/attenuating any of the frequencies. The only thing that I notice that is a bit strange is that I don't feel the high frequencies in all of EQs are boosting the highs enough when they are at 12; when lows sound exaggerated at 12. I would double check with Plugin Doctor but I need to reinstall it, and rescanning thousands of plugins is gonna take time. Maybe I'll do that later.

Another point: I didn't install from the R2R release but rather I downloaded the plugins from the Mogwai website this year, and then registered using the R2R keygen. So maybe they fixed any of the problems you are experiencing. Could you try that?

BTW: MEQ-MKII sounds too different from the source with all settings at noon, it's like it already has an EQ curve baked in. Not sure if this is intended or not.

More findings: Now testing in Plugin Doctor. Not sure if it makes sense to look at PD when it's an analog EQ, it looks a little bit strange but it does show in the linear graph to behave properly, and it confirms my feelings: the high frequencies go up and down less than the other bands. Also anything above 10k looks fucked in PD. And also MEQ-MKII also looks strange at default settings.
