Hauptwerk version 7 is a major new version of Hauptwerk, superseding versions 1-6, and including significant
enhancements to MIDI handling, control panels and piston toolbars, audio routing, optional further improvements
to audio engine quality, and many other smaller improvements. As for Hauptwerk versions 5 and 6, Hauptwerk is
licensed via the PACE iLok system (instead of the ‘Hauptwerk USB key’ HASP dongle system that was used for
versions 2-4).

Major changes include:

The audio engine has been updated to provide improved audio quality.
The number of audio mixer presets has been increased from 8 to 128.
Audio mixer presets can now be changed in real-time.
MIDI functions can now be assigned per-organ and globally.
Settings screens and large control panels now store and recall their last-used position and size.
Any large control panel can now be opened/closed via piston toolbar pistons.
The labels on the piston toolbars can now be customized.

This is a must, Hauptwerk 4 allows at least to load many organs, thanks to the generous demos provided by some sites. Here is Hauptwerk forcing users to purchase license after license unless I purchase a lifelong one at 600$. Aftrer the trial, forget about even loading demos....you are locked out.

It is a great software, but compared to playing organs on NI KONTAKT, you see the limitations of HAUPTWERK quickly, even though it may not be fair to compare them, HAUPTWERK is not a SAMPLER., it allows you to load one organ at a time.

KONTAKT definately allows an infinite number of possibilities and opens endless creativity when you start to add instruments from other libraries to accompany your organ...anything is possible.

But I still love loading organs in HAUPTWERK and would not completely replace it by KONTAKT unless all the organs available for HAUPTWERK were suddenly available for KONTAKT!

So what makes and justifies HAUPTWERK's stingyness I don't know, again, especially considering so many of their organ providers offer generously so many demos that eventually, you can only use on cracked HAUPTWERK 4.

Makes you wonder...if UVI-BEST SERVICE-EAST WEST-SPECTRASONICS- and more were made available without restrictions, maybe HAUPTWERK 7 should follow. (In my humble opinion)

There are imrovements compared to the 4 version and some awesome organs available only for versions 5 and up.

MILAN DIGITAL AUDIO also offers some truly inviting instruments on the HAUPTWERK site that are difficult to try even as a trial. To enjoy them, I have to watch YOUTUBE videos of others playing them.

I have never recieved an installable trial despite following instructions and requesting a trial.
The worst is, the first time in my life I paid for software in my life was purchasing a license for HAUPTWERK 7 that expired quickly. In my haste, I did not bother reading enough.
I took for granted it was mine forever LOL LOL LOL!!!!!

I tried loading some free paramount organs from the site only to get annoying license problem messages, I tried editing the definition file with a simple ""free for life"" but obviously got nowhere.

I checked out videos and web pages but unfortunately, never got to load anything from MILAN DIGITAL AUDIO except for a few exceptions offered here and as torrents on a site.

So yeah, i would be one overjoyed user at being free from all this control and limitations this software has with its main software and MILAN DIGITAL AUDIO instruments:)
