UAD security is NOT strong. If you're careful enough, there are quite a few ked UAD accelerators out there. They are not publicly released because hackers make a profit, and must require real units to work.
UA does introduce the highest level of protection (Metafortress) for Spark, but that shouldn't be an issue to R2R.

I don't think this even possible, i downloaded the UA manager trying to get a trial, they ask for credit card even for 14days trial, if you want to cancel, you must cancel before the trial ends. 2nd they don't provide installers , you install through the manager that downloads the necessary files directly from the server.
So it will be so hard for any team to try everything then collecting everything piece by piece then crack it and make a custom installer out of it.
Well done UAD , they were prepared + iLok and their probably million layers of protection.
I don't think we'll see this any time soon.

An emulator of sorts may be required to crack this. But in theory, if the manager downloads the data then it can be stored out somewhere as actual files.

Yep, with a hardware iLok 3 key? I downloaded some plugins and carried across to offline computer and they seem to open, but I have to buy an iLok 3. Waste of money that I don't have if it doesn't work

Yes. It works on offline computer with licenses stored on iLok USB. No problems at all.
