The EQ is worse that some of the digital EQ available plus the Hi-Mid band cramped even when the High didn't. The compressor isn't modeled accurately.

As for me I confirm that this plug-ins is very close to the original hardware. Obviously when it comes to the comparison between hardware and software the fight will always be uneven ... at least for the moment! I've worked for years with the consoles of the main brands (SSL, API, NEVE), I also tried the tube console from TL-Audio which surprised me very positively and I can tell you that no emulation works like the original. Universal Audio did a good job with the API emulation and their historic products but otherwise it's 'late at night'! I also found the emulation of the Shadow Hill compressor made by Brainworx very good and also the equalizer Amek EQ 200 is very reminiscent of that sound. What else can I say: tastes are subjective and I'm convinced that if we hear the opinion of 100 people on this topic we'll hear as many different opinions!

PS. it's true that the equalizer is a bit aggressive in the mid frequencies and that the compressor isn't exactly perfect but none are perfect and despite that, I find it very musical... Maybe soon they'll release a fix to improve these aspects of the sound.

I don't think so, my friend ..... I've actually worked with a lot of original hardware that plug-ins would like to emulate how it works. As I've already said, some are very good, others have not even come close. If we really want to talk about a company that makes exceptional products, then the Acoustica Audio plug-ins are the best! There's only one small problem: each loaded plug-ins completely annihilates the CPU of the computer being used and therefore cannot be used at their maximum power.

That said, tastes are tastes ....
