REQ: Fors Kit (Ableton Max for Live)
This Kit contains four experimental Max for Live devices with a visual interface that invites you to tune parameters with your ears and lose yourself in sound.
β Jog β a notepad sequencer with euclidean pacing
β Pop β a colorful synthesizer with microtonal flavors
β Hue β a dynamic filter with rhythmic control
β Box β a spacious reverb with intense tonality
INFO:
JogJog is a polyphonic notepad sequencer. Notes, chords and rhythms are entered by manually recording MIDI data step by step.
It is inspired by classic step-entry sequencers but comes with a twist; the sequence in Jog can be played back using a dynamic euclidean algorithm which can drastically change the outcome.
Several instances of Jog can also be chained to form complex sequences. They can interact with each other by transposing the adjacent Jog device or stacking sequences for true polyphonic sequencing.
PopPop is an 8-voice synthesizer with morphing spectral modulation and microtonal capabilities.
By using a system of revolving oscillators, Pop smoothly scans between different harmonics formed by phase modulation in its core.
By dividing the music octave into more or less steps than the chromatic 12-tone tuning system, Pop can play microtonally letting you explore new and exciting musical expressions.
HueHue is a bandpass filter with adjustable width; it can be used as a highpass, lowpass, bandpass or something in between.
The filter cutoff frequencies in Hue can be dynamically modulated by two envelopes, triggered by a euclidean pattern generator.
BoxBox is an unorthodox reverb with vast spaces and intense tonalities that invites you to explore feedback, distortion and filtering in a way that can completely deteriorate a signal and send it far, far away.

Together they form a playful quartet of melody, texture, rhythm and space. Paired with other tools and sounds they can be used to add spark and surprises to any constellation.
