Virtual Playing Orchestra is a SFZ sample library that attempts to emulate multiple articulations of the solo and section instruments from a full orchestra using the best samples from Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra, No Budget Orchestra, VSCO2 Community Edition, Phaded Productions, University of Iowa, Philharmonia Orchestra and extra samples from Mattias Westlund, author of Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra.

Virtual playing is my term for playing the simulated sound of a real instrument by using a piano keyboard and software based virtual instruments. (In technical terms, playing a MIDI controller and recording the notes through VST plugins using a computer in place of a multi-track recording studio)

The secret weapon.
Designed in 1974, the vintage N64 mono Limiter/Compressor unit quickly became a legend by achieving secret-weapon status among studio professionals, thanks to its unique sound and functionality. Discrete, Class A/B design and transformer-coupled circuits used in the input ensured a totally unique sound. This unit is still sought after, decades after production stopped, and they remain one of the milestone pieces of studio equipment.

These foley samples are recorded with a Zoom H2N field recorder. They are sourced from various things like crushing a can, fiddling with a plastic bag etc. The recordings are edited and cut up to individual samples.

Inside you will find various ticks, clicks, zips and hits, which are excellent for drum layering. Besides the free foley samples, the pack also contains some cool percussion hits. Incorporate the foley samples in your drum patterns/loops, to make them a bit more lively, and give them an interesting feel.
