Recorded and produced at La Boutique Studios Dakar by Pape Armand Boye, this collection provides further insights into the sonic experience of West African spirituality, where music is the centerpiece of celebrations and rituals. In this pack, you'll find West African rhythms, vocals, and instruments such as the balafon, ngoni, and kora. Plus, synths, guitars, drums, and percussion.

Splice Originals Voodoo Southern Trap WAV-FANTASTiC screenshot
FANTASTiC | 03 August 2021 | 544 MB
For this Splice Originals release, music producer Ray Luminais (Lil Wayne, Boosie, Ambre, Raw D.I, T Stead, Viacom, Mibe) zooms in on deep south trap music with a New Orleans twist. Influenced by the likes of Mannie Fresh, Zaytoven, 808 Mafia, and KLC, Ray combined his vocals with keys, analog, and digital synths to offer up a brooding, emotive collection of trap samples with that mystic NOLA magic.

Splice Originals Sticks n' Stones MULTiFORMAT-FANTASTiC screenshot
FANTASTiC | 03 August 2021 | 500 MB
Spring has sprung in the Western Hemisphere and we’re back outside capturing nature’s unfoldings as the temperatures rise once again. The Splice Originals team captured an extensive set of percussive nature sounds made with sticks and stones we found along a trail in rural Tennessee. Then we mined the archives for previously unheard field recordings from the forests and seasides of Northern California.

Splice Originals Future Soul Vol 1 with Brandyn Burnette MULTiFORMAT-FANTASTiC screenshot
FANTASTiC | 03 August 2021 | 785 MB
Musician Brandyn Burnette who performs as EMAN8 and collaborated on the Devine Vocal Emanations release joined us at Splice Studios NYC once again. For this pack, he dove into the sounds of future soul while tapping his Jamaican roots for unique inspiration. With one foot in the past and the other in the future, Brandyn brought his silky falsetto and tenor, which lend themselves to pop and R&B perfection. He came up with riffs, melodies, hooks, and adlibs on the spot that have instantaneous hit-making quality and genre-bending potential.

Splice Originals Dollar Bin Resampled Soul WAV-FANTASTiC screenshot
FANTASTiC | 03 August 2021 | 675 MB
The Splice Originals crew teamed up with Jason Matthews on keys and Justin Andres on guitar to create a foundation of songs primed to be chopped, twisted, and screwed. Matthews and Andres worked remotely off of each other’s ideas, swapping melodies and riffs back and forth until they had complete songs. We then resampled and reworked their files, just as if we had found them in the dollar vinyl bin. The result is a mix of dark funk, lo-fi hip hop, and cinematic soul thrown in the blender. In addition to the keys and guitars, you’ll find banging hip hop drums to make this a full-on toolkit for making low-key bangers.

Splice Originals Break Tapes with Sean Hutchinson WAV-FANTASTiC screenshot
FANTASTiC | 03 August 2021 | 705 MB
Sean Hutchinson has been a touring and recording member of the band Bleachers since 2014 and an active force on the New York City music scene since 2007. For this release, he recorded a bunch of drum breaks in his Brooklyn studio influenced by his jazz background, experience in pop and indie rock acts, and drummers he admires. The Splice Originals crew then put the sounds through an Ampex 440-B Tape Machine for a proper crunch at 7.5 inches per second. The result is banging drums dripping in saturation, grit, and unique lo-fi character.

Splice Originals Antidote MULTiFORMAT-FANTASTiC screenshot
FANTASTiC | 03 August 2021 | 392 MB
Splice Originals producer Erick Bardales, who created the Sensaciones and La Formula packs, is serving up Caribbean vibes, honing in on his Honduran Caribbean roots. Growing up on the coast of Puerto Cortes, Honduras, Panamanian reggae and dancehall music resonated from every corner. It was hard not to be influenced by popular artists like El Rookie, El General, Danger Man, and Kafu Banton.
