a gift i wanted to make a long time ago - my favorite composer of all times;
the saddest and most beautiful music that i know.

the Golden Globe, Bafta and Grammy winning composer performs pieces from his beautiful and critically acclaimed album
Piano Works. Filmed in location in Paris the music films centres on a unique solo performance by Craig.

This one hour long film shows an extremely rare sighting of the composer in the legendary Parisian Studio, Studio Eclair the un-modernised home to the French new-wave cinema movement of the 1960's. As the music swirls around, in and out of this historic cinematic space, so too does the viewer; jettisoning into the surrounding cityscape to experience the source of Craig's inspiration for the music.

The ACCENTUS is a virtual analog synthesizer with 2 oscillators and a suboszillator. Its interesting waveforms and its flexible filter section, is getting a lot of punch and assertive sounds. Simple Sampling – a name, a concept!
When we first started working on a fun ReFill based on the Stylophone we recorded it for sampling purposes: we sampled this little toy note by note. Besides programming a patch that matches the real thing we also tweaked the NNXT to go some extra steps. Some fat funky clavinet-style patches caught us by surprise. While producing the Stylofunk mini track (apart from the loop it´s entirely based on Stylophone samples) we added lots of extra cool stuff to this ReFill: a “single-sample-Rhodes”, a “single-sample-Piano”, a “single-sample-Kalimba” and a lot of other nifty stuff …

To get inspiration for this seventh part of our MDP-series we watched lots of old James Bond movies as well as the beautiful documentaries by Jacques-Yves Cousteau. It was the breathtaking atmosphere of underwater scenes we were mainly heading for. The Malström was our only supplier of sound with which we sculptured a sonic background for this silent world.
