Native Instruments All Applications WinXP FIX Method incl. Tools screenshot

Since Native Instruments modified their installers its not possible to install their software on WinXP machines the regulary way! You need a work around. This package gives you all tools you need + detailed instructions. With this method its easy and you dont have to wait till anybody is releasing a WinXP Fixed Version of the NI-Apps.

The methods were figured out by Sardoumichel and me.

Thank you! PC users have an extra step when it comes to getting NI products functional compared to OSX which has less which made all my uploads more difficult for PC users.

Thank you for posting this! I don't want to update my NI Kontakt yet (I'm on XP), because I don't want to edit my instruments and save them with an updated version and then I won't be able to open them up with the older version 5.0.1 . I installed once the v 5.3.1 but didn't notice something improved, or some new effects.
I am sure this update tool will become useful in some day! I bookmarked this post just in case.

Thank You. And what about the BFD3?
  Resident 28.04.2012 19 1587
+2268
I dont know about BFD3...But if they also do an operating system version check with their installer, why dont you simply try the discribed method with their installer too. This might not only work for NI-Apps. But of cuase there's no guaranty the product itself will work at XP after you installed it. Maybe BFD3 really isnt compatible.

This is Native Instruments, what does BFD3 have to do with it?

Ahh Cat..No Problem. The method should also work on other installers that do an OS version check. I will try it a soon as possible. Would be nice to know it also work.

You're welcome...but remember, the main part of this method has been figured out by "Sardoumichel" ... I only collected the information, rewrote it a bit and added the complicated method for Apps and the one for Librarys and finally made a complete package.

Its of cause not rocket science...but since I've made my first NI Kontakt WInXP Fixed Version here at audioZ a lot of people wrote me PM...and asked for it and how I made it. So this release is also to protect my nerves and save my time!

Thank you so much lukehh and Sardoumichel!

Since I upgraded to Linux and will absolutely never look back [now I hate Micro$oft even more when I see how well native Linux works and looks these days and there is Steam and Mantle for superb gaming... ;)] I'm even less interested in changing my trusty and nicely fine-tuned XP for something more recent just to be able to play music with a native [as in not virtual] Windows OS so this will come soooo handy!

Have you considered installing VirtualBox on your computer so you can install OSes for testing installations and stuff like this or simply just completely safely browse the Internet with whatever OS you like? Virtualisation rules!

That's how I discovered which Linux distribution I like the best. [Linux Mint Debian Edition and Debian LXDE or Xfce for those interested]

Cheers!

As I'm on Win7 I have an XP vitual machine just to test this release and the other WinXP fixed NI-Kontakt releases I did before. It was all just a result of interest how to avoid this f--cking OS Version check. I dont need it personally because I'm not using XP. BTW..I love Win7..but I dont want to start a discussion here about which OS is better!

That's great, I thought you didn't have a virtual machine to test the stuff in. Yeah, that version check is just a stupid corporate hindrance put in by corporations to force users into forking money to "poor" M$ for a new OS. They try to do it in lots of ways, most prominent of them being distribution of PCs with pre-installed OSes. It's quite cunning, smug and not fair at all because the price of the OS is included in the price of the PC, of course.

So for me there is no discussion about OSes and no other operating system than Linux any more. It's not just about the eXPerience [LOL] of using those paid-for OSes, it's those corporations that make them that are rubbish and using an OS made by them [Krapple and M$] makes me feel bad. I want no affiliation with them whatsoever any more. My only link to them now is Reaper with VST plugins that I prefer to run natively.

Linux is much more than just an OS. It's about the community of cool and really [not quasi] intelligent people around it and they are mostly incredibly helpful. It's about the feeling, too, and it feels great using it! :) It feels kinda like using Reaper instead of Pro Tools or like using AudioSex and AudioZ instead of Gearslutz! It's the taste of freedom and choice, man! Linux made me a happier, more confident and satisfied man. It's not just the OS itself that is just plain better, it's the community of super-cool and supportive people around it. Just like here!

Cheers!

and big thank you for your effort again!
