Sweet! Thanks Team GHOULS and PiRAT!!

This is about a company that changed the way record companies structure themselves in order to mass produce GUARANTEED hits from MANY DIFFERENT artists. Before Berry Gordy's genius stimulated the now common "thinking outside of the box" model for non-Jewish owned outfits, a small, minority-run record company was lucky to have ONE artist with ONE gold hit in its ENTIRE life. The brilliant Gordy researched and analyzed EVERY aspect of what went into making a hit from the song to the right time to release it. He employed MANY tactics to stay ahead of the competition which was historically accustomed to COMPLETELY exploiting and appropriating ANY Black cultural art form AND/OR any Black business trying to sell our art. Of course, the Satanic Amerikkkan GOVERNMENT(FBI mostly) was "watching" the company in ways that BLATANTLY were unconstitutional. But we prevailed in the end and some of the BEST music EVER made in the WORLD was made by Gordy's Motown.

PS. One of the tricks Gordy used that Sean "Puffy" Combs admitted to learning from him, was to be prepared to buy a million of your own records the FIRST day you release a properly hyped single OR album. When your song or album goes platinum in one day, it will hit many of the categories on Billboard(number 1 song, number 1 gold hit, fastest rising song, etc.) and FORCE the radio stations(in general) to play the song EVERY HOUR. Just about ANY song played EVERY HOUR is going to be at least somewhat successful in getting sales, and really good songs by really good artists are going to dominate the charts. Thank you Berry Gordy for the music and your mind!!

This is such an amazing documentary. I really can't thank you enough for sharing this gem PiRAT.
It touched, informed, and encouraged me deeply. I knew a lot about the Motown history, but it's nothing like hearing it in such granular and emotional detail, straight from the horse's mouths. I'm really glad to have watched and experienced this film. Thank you.

My earliest memories of music are listening oldies stations with my dad when I was wicked young, stations which were largely dominated by the sounds of Motown. Since I'm not old enough (by a *long-shot,) to remember when these artists were actually in their prime, this movie is gold to me; the footage is amazing and their story gives their music so much more depth. That being said, I think that anyone who appreciates music in general would be pretty stoked on this movie.
Very, very big thanks for this one, PiRAT.
