Hej everyone ;)
I need some help with the MacOs install. Not sure to put the licence file in the right place.
When I put it in Macintosh HD -> Library -> Application Support (wich is the only folder that I know with this name) it stills ask me for license in Ableton.
What did I do wrong?
Thanks a lot for any precious help :D

You have to put license file in Macintosh HD -> "Your User Name" -> Library -> Application Support

⌘ CMD+⇧ SHIFT+. - to show hidden files and folders in Finder
This too shall pass

I made a few tests with Reaper and Cubase with and without the R2R license file.
1. Autonomous version: works in Demo mode & creates an empty license file. When replaced with the R2R license (which only contains a license number), works in licensed mode.
2. VST3: Crashes both DAWs even in demo mode. After a reboot, works but keeps having random crashes.
3. VST2: Crashes both DAWs even in demo mode. After a reboot, works normally both in demo and licensed modes.
Therefore, it seems the problem lies with the plugins themselves, which seem to be unstable, particularly VST3. I will keep testing.

quote by FeerlyssSOLVED?

For those who have the problem of DAW crashing or plugin not loading, who also found that the plugin would work if you run the DAW as ADMIN...I believe we found the solution.

Turn your PC off and back on. This worked for me and others, now it's loading perfectly without running as admin.

Hope this helps.

This certainly was my problem. I tried running as admin etc to no avail it kept crashing reaper. The restart did it for me. I only installed VST. Win 10 21H2 Reaper 7.13

(solved for me, see below)

This time I'm not the lucky one
Tried everything Win10 11H2
- uninstall
- reinstall,
- put activation code in AppData and AppData/Roaming.
- Tried Standalone and
- VST2, VST3 Versions...
- Even used the key out of the file to register (without calling home).
- Start with/without Admin permissions
-Restart system...

..no way, always asking for registration

==================>
Ok, after some further trials I found the issue on my PC.

1. Yes, the registration file has to be in: C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming

2. Make sure (after installing and before starting Scaler), that the registry file is not corrupt.
2a) To do so just simply open the file in a text editor. If there's a common registry code pattern inside like: 12345-65555-feffwfe-32535 then the file ist correct, just close it and start Scaler.
2b) if the file show you some strange content - I assume you started Scaler wrong and Scaler killed the content of the registry file. However just copy the registry file again from your origin folder.

Good luck.

Thanks for everything, as far as vst3 in SO latest version, it works very well, even with the scan of more than 1500 plugins, it never closed, and I tried some arturia plugin that are usually heavier, .. My problem is with the desktop plugin, that one after the first installation, and even blocking it with firewall, just in case some plugin gives me validation problems, I did have problems that it doesn't even last 2 seconds at startup before it freezes, followed by closing .... I don't know what to do, but at least vst3 lets me play and test, thanks in advance!

The guys who have purchased through the Scaler site are complaining about these problems and crashes, so it looks like an update is needed to sort out their bugs.

Ok. Starting with installation;
Win10pro 22H2 - test machine is OFFLINE (as in NO internet connection)

- Ran installer as you normally would (run as admin) completed OK
- placed license file in "%current user%\appdata\roaming" folder
(this is a strange place to put a license file especially when there is a "scaler 3" folder already under the roaming root.)
- rebooted host machine.

A word about this install - IMO, it's fucking wacked. This thing places a shit load of stuff (800+ MB's ) on your <C:\drive> and there is no ask by the installer for an alternate path - on top of all that the installer places the presets and sound content in two completely separate paths making it doubly difficult to move. YES it all can be moved, but I ended up having to make two separate symlinks pointing to the same destination folder on another drive to get ALL the stuff put where it should have been in the first place.

Operation;
Standalone Mode: Worked first time it was called up. One point of strangeness was the fact that it would not use the ASIO driver for my professional grade 2 channel audio card. Didn't even recognize the ASIO driver was present. It only seems to be able to deal with "windows audio". This is quite lame for a so-called "professional audio tool".

DAW mode: tested in Reaper and Cubase14 (R2R). Plugin runs fine for what it is and seems to be able to deal with ASIO when running as a plugin as opposed to standalone. Since ASIO is what the DAW's both use it seems the plugin will capitulate to the DAW's preference in this respect which is what it should do natively.

Final Summary:
Install went without a hitch. Standalone mode was solid, no crashes. Did end up playing around with the license file placement to see what the deal was and where it could be placed that made more sense. There is no other place it seems. It's either in your "appdata/roaming" root or you get licensing errors. DAW mode operation was solid as well in both DAW's tested. NO crashes noted. Other than the large quantity of data just dumped on the <C:drive> and the stand alone apps' inability to deal with ASIO everything else seemed to run OK for the most part. NO other operational issues noted...

Given the policies of PII data usage of this dev corp there would be no way in hell I would ever use this thing on a machine that was connected to the internet.

Anyone got success on Mac? Like other users, it asks for license although i put the authorization file in /Users/username/Library/Application Support

Intel/Ventura/Logic11. Seems to be fine to me. Install, open standalone, close app, restart, replace the file in the user application support folder. I only used it for 30 seconds. So ymmv & it may not be stable on even my end after prolonged usage. But it works.

Is it possible to import midi files in Scaler 3 ? It would be great if Scaler could analyse a melody and suggest chords progression ...
