RealEight is 8-string sample-based electric guitar virtual instrument.

RealEight provides incredible playability based on easy-to-use keyboard layout as well as the advanced key/pedal/velocity switch system allowing a keyboardist to perform guitar parts with a whole new level of realistic expression.

RealEight covers practically all sounds, articulations, and techniques a professional guitarist can produce on his 8-string electric guitar, including mute, bridge mute, harmonics, pinch harmonics, sliding, scraping, etc...

24-bit high quality dry samples recorded directly from pick-ups let you easily create any desired guitar sound using your favorite amplifier simulator.

RealEight innovations:

  • Incredibly deep sound covering huge 5-octave note range (8 strings, 24 frets)!
  • Ready-to-use Double Track and Quad Track patches with a single MIDI input
  • 30+ authentic guitar articulations and effects
  • Advanced Humanize section allowing to add realism to the performance both live and step-recorded in a MIDI track
  • Bass mode lowering the pitch of all strings to Bass guitar tuning
  • The unique Floating Fret Position technology, which imitates change of fret position of a guitarist's hand on the neck. This gives you the possibility of playing on up to 200 guitar frets using
  • just 60 keys of a standard keyboard!

I wish MusicLab would develop an upright Bass!

    Nice release
You can't have everything; where would you put it?

For me the setup doesn't start on Windows XP ("The application was generated for a newer version of Windows"). Can someone confirm this?
On the Musiclab website it states that it should be compatible with WinXP SP3, that is why I am asking.

On Windows 7 everything works just fine though.

Just in case someone has the same problem, I found a way around it:
Simply install RealEight under Windows 7, then copy the folder
    C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealEight
and put it into the VST directory on your Windows XP machine.

Sorry, it was my fault. Using both folders X86 and X64 solved the issue.

Fantastic!!! I'm not even an axeslinger and I LOVE this thing. I have the REAL Les Paul Custom as well and it's just as good! Thanks a lot R2R!

I was hoping for something EXACTLY like this. I've been looking into making heavier guitar parts with a keyboard. The ample sound stuff just wasn't cutting it. Hopefully this will do the trick. Thanks so much R2R and Sunny!

Thank you for this! Already tried through Revalver and it sounds the business, now I just have to learn all the articulations to get a good performance out of it.....

Do you mean Revalver 4? You should check out humanize section (definitely) for better results. I think MusicLab should add this section to its other guitar products too.

Yeah. Revalver 4. Found the humanise section, didn't realise they haven't added it to their other products. Totally necessary for this type of thing. Thanks

Have you find any differences with the new "Bridge Mute" articulation?

Edit : there is a new option with the bridge mute articulation.
3 differents options...Clever..but it sounds the same way to my ears.

    Are you asking me??

The manual doesn't state this clearly but, those numeric values next to Bridge mute control the "tightness" of sample played when playing low velocity notes.

Almost every VSTi needs a MIDI controller, do you mean a controller with buttons and sliders by nice?

The best virtual guitars (in general string virtual instruments) need music theory because they have a lot of sampled chords, articulations (muted, slide, fret noise, etc). But more important is guitar terminology to know what each articulation is.

And this huge number of articulations leads to your next point. Yes, you do need a complete MIDI keyboard if you want to play live. And with complete I mean high number of keys, I'd say no less than 61. At least is what happens with V-Metal Kontakt virtual guitar that I use. If you don't need to play live that's another and simplest case.
[2009] Sorry for my English. I'm working on it
    [2017] I'm beginning to improve. Hell yeah, I'm a fast learner :D

Studio One don't see VST2 format, only VST3. Any ideas? Not a big problem, just for curiosity...

I use WinXP for other systems is similar.

    1) Get to install folder (mine is C:\Program Files\MusicLab\RealEight) and copy from there
    "RealEight.dll" to folder where is all your VSTi ( C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins ).

    2) Run Studio One and rescan plug-ins then you will find this great guitar ...

    3) I wish you happy loud playing.

This must be done after you copy cracked dll & first time run (with icon on desktop) standalone version then exit this standalone and do like i write here !

Tested it, and I can honestly say that it's one of the best virtual guitars I've tested so far. PERIOD.
