BTW, today i've learn something i didn't know when trying to load some of the SYSEX banks from your upload in the standalone VCZ: that the preset files are either for VST or AU but not for both at the same time (thought that a preset file could be used by any type of plug-in! ) ... I'm a poor ignorant musician, i know that!

EDIT1: Finally i have discovered how to load the SYSEX banks kindly uploaded by lukehh (or any other banks that you may find in the iNet) ...

Follow this simple steps:

01. Load the VST2 into your preferred DAW
02. IMPORTANT! Uncheck File-->Use .vstpreset browser
03. Use File-->Load Bank-->SYSEX (.syx) to load the bank

Please note that Load SYSEX Bank option is only available to VST2 version of the plug-in ... If you want to use those presets either in VST3 or AU you must load them as a SYSEX bank into the VST2 and then export the whole bank as either individual .vstpreset (VST3) or .aupreset (AU) as the only option to save the whole bank as one file is only available to VST2 .fxb files (however, i must say that i've been unable to load the .fxb that i've generated from one of those SYSEX banks even if i've generated the folder with individual .fxp presets within too)

After some investigation here's the easiest way to use the presets from SYSEX banks in the .vstpreset browser:

00. Uncheck the "Use .vstpreset browser" in the File Menu
01. Load the SYSEX bank in the VST2 as explained above
02. Export the presets as .vstpreset to the folder you chose INSIDE the User Presets folder (use "Reveal the User .vstpreset folder" to know where it is)
03. Check again the "Use .vstpreset browser" in the File Menu
04. You can delete the SYSEX bank file if you want

Don't worry, despite being presets for VST3, the VST2 will show (and load) any preset from the Presets-->User drop down Menu.

And YES, you should try the banks uploaded by lukehh, they are far much better than the ones included in the plug-in

Also, i think hat standalone version has some bug, because i must configure MIDI input in preferences, each time i start the app (My system: MacOSX 10.6.8 SL) ...

EDIT2: It took me some time to make it, but here's a gift for the lazy ones (don't hide, i know you all ): ALL the SYSEX bank files converted to .vstpreset ready to use with this wonderful plugin (VST2 + VST3 + AU) ... I have not included the original SYSEX files, so if you need them for some reason download them from the lukehh's link above ... Also this has been converted in a Mac, so needles to say that i need a Windows user as a beta tester to confirm that it works there too ... ENJOY IT!

No, i'm not doing this for your thanks, it's just that i guess that in your personal life you'll be doing the same while demanding from others (parents, boy/girlfriend, friends, politicians, and so on) a better world in which to live in peace ... Hey Fraggle...You seem to be really someone who deserves the name! I dont know if there is also some kind of word in other languages, but in germany we say something like "herausgefriggelt, or herausgefraggelt" if somebody is trying something as long as he/she found out how it works! And thats exacly what you did with this sysex patches idiotism! Thanks a lot!

BTW Fraggle...maybe you should think about posting you converted patches + the original ones as an own release here at audioz. Otherwise I fear, not everyone who may be interested in this will find it here in the comments. I bet Audioz users would appreciate it a lot!

On the other hand i'm trying to get more sound banks from the iNet to convert and post them too, but i've only found one sound bank until now (a sound bank from the CZ-230 that someone converted to CZ-1 and which i've converted already to use with VirtualCZ), they are difficult to find! ... So, if you know where i can get more (it would be great to have the original/factory sound banks from the CZ-1) or you have some more, lead me to them and i would do the rest

I also tried to find some..but its really hard! But I will try again and let you know..OK?

Found this a few minutes ago posted by Oli Larkin himself in the gearslutz.com forum: for windows as well as for Mac and already converted to use with VirtualCZ ... I think that they are the original/factory presets from the various CZ-XXX models but i'm not sure (maybe someone can confirm this) ... Thanks a lot for the link (lots of sound banks there!), i'll continue the «hard» search too!

EDIT1: just to tell you that the CZ-1 patches from the page you send me are already in the patches posted by Oli Larkin ... Going now to the other model's patches, i'll tell you later if they are the same too or different from the ones in the Oli Larkin archives

EDIT2: fortunately they are not the same ... BTW, converted already CZ230ALL «the 100 original patches for the CZ-230S» (great sounds BTW!) ... Unfortunately VirtualCZ has problems to load the last SYSEX file, fortunately it has only 4 sounds in it (so, not a great lost!)

I uploaded all the patches I've found ill now for you to convert. I sorted them and put them a into correct named folders. So you dont have to do it.

Don't worry, saw your post yesterday before i went to sleep and downloaded already ... Things are not going so fast as i supposed (some presets are not in banks but in individual SYSEX files i must load (and rename) one by one - also some banks haven't 64 presents in them but 16 and i must load and empty bank each time before load those 16 presets banks, being aware that presets from previous loaded bank don't stay there for the next - and if that was not enough some banks show no presets names, which means that i must watch the readme files that come with some SYSEX archives and rename one by one while checking that i didn't missed or repeat some preset) ... I thought the work would be quicker, but as you can see i need a lot of patience ...

Anyway i've converted some patches today, all ready to use with the VirtualCZ:
CZ Leads 01 = 16 presets CZ-1 (by Narfman96) = 512 CZ-1 Original Patches = 64 CZ-101 = 32 CZ-101 (by Andreas Ostling) = 16 CZ-101 (by Soundprogramer 01) = 16 CZ-101 (by Soundprogramer 02) = 16 CZ-230S Original Patches = 100 CZ-1000 = 16 RA-03 Cartridge = 16 RC-10 Cartridge = 64 RC-20 Cartridge = 64 RC-30 Cartridge = 64 Total = 996 presets (by now) + EMPTY BANK i had to create to reset all the banks before loading any SYSEX = 64 empty presets

I think i will have everything ready tomorrow (or after tomorrow at the latest)

WOW!! Just to be sure you downloaded the correct one. Does the archive you downloaded contain the following folders:
