XLN Audio Addictive Drums v1.5.7 and Library Update

I can't figure it out either and I consider myself a pretty advanced IT kind of guy. I had version 1.5.3 installed with the included sound library. I backed up the sound library... or so I thought and then uninstalled from programs and features (win7). I then installed the 1.5.7 version, moved the sound data back over and tried to launch addictive drums. The first time it said it couldn't find config.txt. I rinsed and repeated and now it can't find xdstacks... whatever that is. The problem is that when I uninstall my original version that was 1.5.3, it also uninstalls the original library... so I have no way of officially installing the library. I manually move my original backed up library over and try the library placer tool, but that doesn't work either. I have tried every scenario I can think of other than downloading the 4.5gb library because I assume that is the library that came with the 1.5.3 I have. I could be wrong.

Anyway, I'm not the only one having problems with this, but I also know some people got it to work so I'm obviously doing something wrong.

Thanks for this !!!, but i have this problem after unistlalling the old version and doing all the steps, i get this "Exception could not find catalog (licence)" dont know what to do !!! anyone having the same problem ???? thanks

I am having the same problem and i also followed the directions specifically. cannot find path to config.txt. Please help someone. We really appreciate it, thank you so much.

AlphaOne: Thanx. Bit of an oversight on my part, but it looks im not the only one having issues I see. I have the old cracked version from AIR, love it and it still works fine. I was just hoping I could use this version due to having the black velvet post. To be honest this is the only plugin R2R release (previous versions included) I have ever had problems with.

Okay for all you guys out there having problems installing Addictive drums and also having major problems using updates , especially the latest 1.5.7 R2R so here is what I did for installing Addictive drums 1.53 (this is inc all the full library 5.48gb).

Yes this took me Countless of Hours installing and reinstalling and the installations were giving me so many different type of errors I almost gave up! I know for many some of R2R instructions can be a bit vague and confusing but I was determined to get this to work
I am using Win7 64bit OS and I have 2 DAWS that I like to work on, (not at the same time ofcourse) but you can open both Applications up at the same time heheh lol ,

I’m using Cubase 5.1.0 build 105 and Presonus Studio one 2.6 64bit.
First of all erase everything you installed before of AD
Now First install the library content.( there is no installer so just copy the addictive drums folder to which ever drive you want. I‘ve placed mine in drive d:
After that run the set up file when asked for standalone, vst 32 and 64 tick all of them. untick 64bit , obviously if you don’t have a 64bit OS.

When all this is done everything should work just fine. So now here is the tricky bit if you want to update to 1.5.7 then go ahead and install it. Then download the 1.5.7 library update R2R and click on the Folder “Addictive Drums and copy the three files, Ad_Library_Placer, GUIData.xpak, and Resources.xpak and place them where you placed your library content and then run the Ad_Library_Placer from there by just clicking on it. After this start your DAW up and the Addictive Drums should show up in your instruments and show up as the updated vers 1.5.7 : )

When I started Studio one up I couldn’t see the AD instrument so what I idid was manually go to the program folder for vst 86 folder and located the Addictive Drums x64.dll and copied it to the 64bit folder in Program Files, Vstplugin ins

If the Addictive Drums don’t show up then After that, you should (re)start your DAW making sure it re-scans your Plug-Ins folder(s) As a new instrument may not re-scan the plug-in folder automatically at every start-up, so you may need to do that manually. Refer to your host’s manual for instructions).

So hope it all works for you guys as it has finally worked for me
