Imagine a limiter that doesn’t just make your audio louder – it also makes smarter decisions about when to limit and when to hold back. The OCELOT Limiter uses advanced psychoacoustic analysis to ensure your mix stays clean and punchy, while maximizing loudness. With its intelligent approach, it helps you push levels higher without the usual artifacts of traditional limiters.

Soft Clipper

A switchable soft clipper catches isolated peaks at the start of the processing chain, reducing the limiter’s workload. This approach results in louder output with less pumping and exceptional transparency. When pushed further, it adds a touch of aggressiveness, delivering a punchy and polished sound without introducing obvious distortion.

True Peak

The OCELOT Limiter’s true peak feature ensures precise level control by adhering to the ITU-R BS.1770 standard. This mode anticipates inter-sample peaks that could cause distortion when your signal gets converted to the analog domain, keeping audio clean and accurately below the threshold level. True peak is invaluable for mastering and all tasks where pristine sound quality is critical.

Five Flavors

With five selectable algorithms, the plugin precisely adapts to any source material, offering tailored responses from the limiter and soft clipper. The 1:1 and delta listen features allow you to fine-tune for optimal signal integrity. Noise shaping, dithering, and quantization further enhance its versatility, making the OCELOT Limiter the ultimate tool for adding power to your tracks and masters.

Ocelot Series

In an ever-growing sea of plugins, a select few stand out as essential tools you rely on in every session. These gems enhance your workflow with their powerful features and intuitive user interfaces, building the core of your personal sound. They become indispensable, evolving alongside you. The Ocelot Series puts these tools right in your hands, delivering cutting-edge low CPU, zero or low latency studio essentials built with top-notch DSP tech.

Don't quote me on this, but 7–15kg *may be a problem, however if we convert it as you did to 15–34lbs, there shouldn't be any issue with aliasing.

This limiter is nice. The controls are simple. The sound is transparent. It's lightweight. I like it.

Tested, but not at the level of AOm G2 modern v (don't like the G3 more complex and not a important improvement in sound) if you looking for the real loudness or tonebooster barricade 4.
a little bit better than pro l2 but not so much and can tweak pro L2. for 29$ it's interesting for normal price tonebooster is way better
Thank R2R

If I may ask: which mode are you usually using in Barricade 4?

Depend, sometime in the input (down left) I activate soft clipper, to catch peak, and after limiter will depend on how loud I want to go and the saturation introduce. If I want, just do a demo and sure get no saturation auto clean. Get a loop that no limiter handle without over distortion even - 1db, tonebooster is the only one for other when they can, I have to spend time to find the big look ahead so less punchy.
after for loudness auto beefy, or Intensity, but not the best limiter for -6LUFS or lourder. Look like to be like pro l2 attack and release are in action if the reduction achieves to the value you set, but under the value of reduce and release immediately.
true peak limit at - 0.3dbtp, it s the best i find, after even convert in MP3 320 you get less than 20 clipping when commercial track some get 10 000 clipping
Tonebooster so light on cpu, aliasing more than OK, I don't know how he did but he knows to code. Just the gui isn't the most beautiful, like waveform isn't as nice and preciser than fabfilter, but it avoid mixing with eyes

Interesting. You don't hear people bring up Toneboosters much, but they make solid stuff. I may have to run Barricade and Ocelot against against each other at some point.
It's odd you mentioned the AOM Limiter, I haven't heard anyone mention it in years—had no idea there was a G3—but the G2 was in my final running years back, before I finally decided on going with Voxengo's Elephant for my main, clean mastering Limiter. (And I'm one of those unholy outliers who don't use Fabfilter, so I can't comment as to ProL2.)

Used voxengo, but main issue I get with it in El 4 or El c, don't remember, it reach a limit that he don't go louder even with 20db of gain, when aom could. So when I get Edm trap, voxengo wasn't able to fight, and we know that this type of client want the Louder.
But for normal loudness I got a good remember after didn't test v5, but much more expensive than barricade, and don't have time to pass in setting, need a tool fast and I can trust. Like the clipper I tried ovc 128 but don't know why get more saturation than aom in clip mode, or tonebooster barricade clipper
Ik stealth a good alternative to aom and sometime get discount, just ik soft manager is horrible

That makes sense, if that's the type of work you get. I don't make, mix, or master any heavy electronic cuts, no wall-of-sound EDM bangers or everything-smashed Trap rumblings, so Elephant works fine for me. I am now curious about Barricade. I have the old TB Legacy bundle that they made free and is fully capable, and I'm already a fan of theirs since I own Morphit which does a solid job EQing my headphones, so I'm gonna have to make some time and give the newest Barricade a test run.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Works on Catalina
It's nice to work with I think and gives you good visual confirmation of what's happening.
It has many rivals but still has something to give.
I like it

Personally, I believe the loudness wars are still brewing even after 20+ years. It's a fools errand. Using these things to smooth a difficult area of a track without tainting the rest of the track is a good thing. A proper use of the tool...Using them to smash the total shit out of a track just to make certain the waveform looks like a cardboard box is entirely moronic to me. With regard to the tool itself, there are literally hundreds of these things around. Some work better than others and this is yet another one that is a v1.0. Will probably pass on it until a second or third revision comes around.

If so, then why the need for yet more redundant tools to keep the war going?

There's already a v1.0.1 out btw...
