35 years ago Waldorf Music released its first instrument, the Microwave, which took the hearts of the leading musicians and producers of the nineties by storm. Its vibrate and distinctive sound transported the early wavetable sounds of the eighties into the rising electronic dance music of the following decade. Massive base lines, enigmatic wavetable modulations, brutal attacks and pads smooth like silk have been inspired generations of musicians. Microwave’s unique interpretation of wavetable synthesis combined with analogue filters defined what hybrid synthesis is at its best.

Now’s the time to bring back this magical instrument in a software form to the digital workstations of producers and musicians world-wide. The Waldorf Microwave 1 Plugin was painstakingly recreated from the original hardware with all its idiosyncrasies and wonderful singularities.

Xenia has different filters, but is a more complex synth and can do a lot more chaotic and interesting digital sounds than MW1.

Comparison of same presets with hardware MW1 and MW2.
They all different.
Same with Waldorf (emulating MW1) and Xenia (emulating MW2/xt). You can match them because of different architecture, algos, filters, etc etc
So you get 2 versions of 2 hardware synths. One from official developer with DSP code, second one is totally emulating second hardware. This month :D

nfo file didn't say anything about blocking IP addys. It wont take any of the cereal #s provided and it only plays in demo mode on Mac, asking for a new serial each time activated. Anybody found a workaround?

Pretty much overrated VSTi

I could not find any specific feature or quality that makes it better than any industrial standart VSTis.

its the limitations and the nostalgia which makes it perfect. and i dont see why would one compare it with serum or any other WT synth? its just the way how Waldorf did conecept their synths back then and now, which makes it perfect to work with.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

I owned a Microwave 1 and an aftermarket Midi programmer.. This is the biz. Sounds Incredible. The DSP project is another matter, its also awesome.. But this is great. Sonoma and Bitwig 5.2

anyone know an easy way to open the keygen on a mac? I usually use Wine but it doesn't work anymore.
