Im still on strike as many of the releasers here are. But publicly available stuff should go up and bring even more attention to the great devs and designers out there.

This will be my last post until the strike is finished.

Just thought I'd chime in. I don't blame any of the teams or admin for their stance. I'm actually surprised that it's taken them this long to say enough is enough and that is all credit due to them for being so tolerant, as sometimes it confuses even me as to why they'd continue to do what they do for so little gain.

It's a thankless job at times from what I've seen. And in no other field do people who get so much for free abuse the concept of common courtesy and respect so much, as I'm struggling to think of a similar site for music, films or any other type of entertainment or software with a similar dilemma. Now I may be proven inaccurate in my assessment but in the end isn't it enough that so many sacrifice so much of their lives for our benefit? I swear it's like christmas every day on here for me when I remember trying to start off scraping and scrimping on whatever I could when I first tried to figure out what to do. Is it not enough that we get everything for free without demanding that it be delivered to us in a timely manner?

I see both sides of the argument but am on the side of who have contributed so so much. At the end of the day, there wouldn't even be a strike if the admin weren't so transparent, trusting and considerate. So for what it's worth, I say to the devs and admin to put your feet up for a while. No-one is going to die from the slightly diminished output of posts every day. Every one will get what they want in the end when the bottleneck is removed and the pipeline is cleared. Hell it might even make xmas extra special if everything is slowed down and dropped at once. Absence does make the heart grow fonder right. I don't think it a bad thing for those who have their hands out while their bellies are full to feel a little hunger pang for a while.

BTW thanks to 0rgan1c once again for an inspiring heads up.

It was his last share, Artic shared some wavetables before it was official and Organ1c just wanted to dump what he had and give the dev a little more exposure. He figured it wouldn't make sense to release it much later than the product itself so we offered one last batch.

And I just wanted to give you guys an update on the Xfer Record forum blocking situation: Steve unblocked DJ from the forums. I still would like to drive home that DJ had nothing to do with this leak, the leak happened because of an eager cracker that isn't one of the regulars and he ignored the official stance of the teams and combined with other reasons R2R felt obliged to push up the release from what should have been Christmas. I tried to do what I could to stop the original leak, you have no idea what kind of Matrix maneuvers I pulled to try to help but I am just one person and I don't have direct control over anyone except to ask people to exercise some restraint. What can I say? Some people have class and then some are just complete douchebags (of course not referring to R2R). Thanks Steve for being one of the classy breed and restoring his access.

I think morality breaks down when it comes to warez but all in all the simple idea of at least trying to invest what we can back into the industry weather that is artists or devs is a good one. Problem is for a lot of hard up people making decisions when an option of free is there they often take that option. I think delaying a release is a really good way to encourage people to buy stuff. But i am of the opinion of maybe that should be the case for all warez releases though not just one or two audio devs.

I agree with that Rosko, it makes sense that dev's should be able to have the funds to invest in new projects, how many great project idea's have been scrapped or dismissed with worry's that it won't recover those costs

I agree with you rosko but that's why our rules state to not request something if it's not out or has just been released. If it were solely up to me that's the way it would be done, I would give them all a little time from release to posting but I can't control all the teams and what they decide to do.

STRIKE! loooooooool the level of ridiculousnesses this board has reached is quite remarkable. You cant browse it without getting a good dose of cringe, brown tongues are all over the place, double standard "mentors" and "gurus" (when i saw the word "mentor" mentioned around I almost felt out of the couch in laughter) ,money makers scam and all that shit. There is a place , a club for vst , always thought that has to be the dumbest audio community on the planet , a couple of years ago and i remember every thread having about 80% of replies consisting of big blocks of yellow emoticons , mixed and arranged in various patterns and occupying most of space. You had to dig for normal human language and you could grew a beard before finding any useful information about the topic involved.

Seems we`ve been on much the same journey Tonah, although I did use to find that Club of VST`s to be quite a laugh until it got swamped in bureaucracy and messiah complex mods. That site lost some absolutely beautiful human beings in the space of a few short months. Change comes to everything I guess, it just aint always what we, the low lives, lamers and leechers who make up that community, might want.

I`m sure if you`ve been around for longer than 5 minutes you`ll know there are some on here who genuinely KNOW this scene and it`s history inside out. Gotta back those decisions outta respect, and well....... cus tis the law!

I try to imagine Bob Dylan censoring comments he don't agree with -- the thought make me laugh very hard. What kind of creative spirit do something like that? It's a sadness, true sadness. A scene that began with purpose of wanting to liberate stuff we could not afford now become egos that want to annihilate the words they don't agree with.

Bob Dylan is a musician, this is a website and moderation is everywhere on every single site on the net and essential from filtering out the noise to prevent having a site devolve to the lowest common denominator of it's members. I don't have to explain to you how i do my job and I'm not going to because I don't answer to you. Plus the community as a whole is not interested in your misinformed comments as we've made abundantly clear. Just as much as you think you have a right to say whatever and we have to just deal with it we have a right to have a community free from that nonsense and seeing how it's not your site that's what we're going to do.
