I understand you think of this as your work, but if you're going to wonder about why is your work being 'exploited' you should ask yourself what kind of community is this; maybe it needs stricter rules; even people without accounts can dl from here - am I right? (that is how I discovered this place!) My posts ended up on torrents also, but I was glad that people cared for my compilations of VSL samples enough to seed them and the torrents are still working and I am glad. Simply different views of what should make one feel respected...

First of all just because there happen to be a few shitbags here does not reflect on the community. We have an open door policy as we try to help as many as possible so it is to be expected that a certain proportion of them are simply hollow. I can't say that I agree with this open door approach for many different reasons from exploitation of people's work for ego or profit and how people act disrespectfully to the teams, staff and each other but it is what it is and that is a problem that is not just attributed to AudioZ (or any public site) but also the entirety of the P2P scene and it's core values. These are the negative components of public dissemination, can't have the good without the bad.

Second of all this is not the first time this has happened where someone has taken it upon themselves to appropriate someone else's release and use it how they saw fit. It happened to me recently with my Serum updates that I was nice enough to provide to the community but I have simply changed how I share and run my own private circles with other good people that I trust and respect and would hope would respect me when I go out of my way to do something nice for them. It doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to me because I can pay it forward or I can pay it back. In the end the actions people take here will always hurt them more than it will hurt us as a community. You reap what you sow.

Why hollow? - Isn't R2R P2P team? Should they be considered hollow? If you are going to share something with your friends only - do it in a way that doesn't expose your privacy to the public - but if we are going to presume anything it can also be presumed there are better and nicer people out there who are not members of this forum but who could make use of, for example, this sample library; why would you want to rid them of chance and opportunity?

Hollow because their end has nothing to do with community or respect. They simply want to exploit the kindness of others and even go so far as to spit in their face by not doing something simple that is requested in return. Obviously R2R doesn't fall into this category since they don't go around doing that and call out those that do it to them forcing those people out of the shadows to stand accountable. As to the other part of your comment it's because I know the difference between ideals and reality. Sure we can presume that there are nicer people out there who may not have access but there is a saying: "charity starts at home." if contributors had an unlimited supply of patience and it wasn't quite so demoralizing when it happened every time then maybe they would be more likely to want to push on but I personally get sick and tired of it and then I don't even have the energy or desire to help anyone at all. One thing to throw up a post once in a while, quite another to do it consistently in the face of those issues. It's not like I cease doing things for everyone since even though I may be extra attentive to those I consider VIPs I still aided in the development of tons of exciting changes on the forums and I still manage the day to day of those public sites that serve all and I will still share some things with everyone but I also want to offer something special to my crew and also to give back the same disposition that I've had to deal with. People always think about these things in terms of grand gestures but it's really the little things done every day that are the most meaningful and the things that really count. You can't help everyone all the time without becoming a martyr and I have no such desire to be one.

And R2R is the worst example because if you think they don't have some amazing things that they only share with a limited audience then you're deluding yourself. Forget about the HEXWARS stocking stuffer this year.

It's not a battle so there are no winners, I just do what is the right balance of what is right for everyone and what is right for me. I actually typed that on my phone which I'm notoriously slow on but that is a good program. I would use it more often but sometimes it's easier to just type it out. I feel that way I can also reflect on what I'm trying to convey with more focus.

You know, I don't mind torrents, the argument is not about one's ego that "this is my release". By the way there's no monetization on the links (just the default UL one, which cannot be disabled), however this is more about correct citation and attribution. All he had to do is provide link to this post and mention that it came from AudioZ.
All this to redirect people with questions here. Instead he mentioned cinematicstrings.com as a source, which is in this case incorrect, when copying text he didn't take into account the video, etc.
Anyway it doesn't matter now since it's all out which also negates the point of this argument.

If you had posted only patches without samples maybe you could have said cinematicstrings.com was not the source; but you have posted samples you did not record; look at it this way; you are doing the same thing to cinematicstrings.com that oddsox is doing to you; or do you think they would let you post what you have posted?! Don't get upset; I understand all of you here consider this a friendly relaxing place; I just can't believe how much people of civiliezation (the e is deliberate!) are not able to differ form from content!!!

Samples were posted since they're different from what developers originally offered. u1 presented cleaner version (at that time only AC hum was removed) while in u4 wide-band noise reduction took place.

This is not directly comparable to oddsox' actions, since this is derivate (altered source material) and not direct copy.
He didn't mention the source of the description. I'm not talking about the content.

Oddsox actions however doesn't stop me from carrying on with another two releases (shortly).

You are acting like this has all have to do with this release only; I was just trying to have a meaningful conversation; isn't it interesting how you're the ones calling and wanting this to be a community and I, however, don't care about communities, but on the level of actions exactly the opposite is being implied? I give you full right to ignore me because I am used to disappointments on internet 'communities'...
