Production Voices: Estate Grand Piano KONTAKT screenshot
TEMPLE | Dec 03 2014 | 5.66 GB
The Production Voices' Estate Grand Piano is a beautifully hand-sampled Kawai GS 60 6'9? grand piano with three different microphone perspectives including a mono-capatible M/S (mid-side) microphone perspective. It was recorded with care and with only the finest equipment at a country estate in the heart of corn country in Southern Ontario Canada. Note: This is the full version of our popular Estate Grand Piano LE.

How does it sound?
The Estate Grand Piano is sampled from a grand piano that resides in the library of a country manor. The room is warm sounding and the piano overpowers the room just slightly filling the room strong overtones. Hence, the piano has a lot of attack! While sampling the grand piano, the owner of the manor mentioned that he auditioned several pianos before picking the Kawai. He had tried Steinways and other famous pianos, but fell in love with the character of the Kawai. It is not a β€œme too” piano, but a unique instrument that will add life to your live or recorded piano sound!

Sampling in the country presents its challenges! There are the birds and wildlife outside as well as the sounds of the manor creaking as it heats up with sun’s heat and cools as the sun sets. The piano took several days to sample and countless hours to edit. If you listen closely, you may hear the rustling of leaves and a bird or two on the quietest of notes, but that’s only if you listen intently enough to hear if we actual sampled the piano in an estate!

Thank you so much. In my opinion though, this piano is kind of trebly with very strong attack.
Best suited for pop/rock than classical maybe?

quote by copylefterNow you ^ are waiting for production Grand Gold.
We are happy for this, right here, right now.

quote by MusicMan2013Just what we need a kontakt piano library - the other million weren't enough, ha, ha

No offense at all... but 'JUNKIES' never have enough !!!

What surprise me the most is that as soon that a new 'Piano' Library/Model just appears, some are asking for another one (perhaps without even have tried the posted one !!!).

With all the 'Piano' Libraries/Models available since a few years now... I can only guess that some users want to create a 'Symphonic Orchestra', but with Pianos solely !!!...
A real ' Symphonic Orchestra' contains about 100 Instruments , so with 100 Pianos, you get it !

Personally I am not a fan of the production Voices pianos judging from what I've heard. All the same I will never turn down the opportunity to try a multi gigabyte piano library. All pianos are different and yes I will admit to being a piano addict. I need rehab! Lol
Since I was offended by the argumentative nature of the comments here, I'll express my opinion, and only my own opinion. I am not going to accuse anyone of anything but I felt it necessary for me to put my thoughts down. I understand what it's like to want production grand Gold or some other high end software. I really do. But as soon as I saw "Production Voices," I smiled because I knew this would be something I may actually be interested in. Who cares if I have some negative expectations? Who cares if I have other pianos, which I think sound or play better than this library? First off I can't truly make that judgment until I try it. And secondly that's really not the point, the point is that someone has shared yet another library regardless of its quality. I'm still willing to give it a chance because that's what this site is for right? Try the library and if you like it enough, buy it proper. Sure it's not Production Grand Gold or whatever their highest end product is. And regardless of how we spin it, if Production Grand Gold is released here tomorrow... Which I seriously doubt... we'll all be happy to see it. Those of us who are thankful for every share will appreciate the share even if they despise the thing. Even the ones who have already thought of 50 more products they wish were here... if nothing else they've just gotten one piano thrown off their list then. And those people who constantly throw their requests out there and expect someone to upload it right now don't belong here. In any case I didn't come here to read a bunch of short tempered mud slinging, all I came here for was to see if there were any potential issues or really well praised features with it before I download. 50 comments of "thanks!" would be better than what we got. Okay, rant over.
When I download it I will give an honest opinion of it like I did with almost everything else I have posted comments on. Thanks for the share Temple.

Thank you temple23!

Dumb question: can I delete the "__NI_SMPL_ADD__" folder located in "Resources" folder?

You're right. It's all about what each person likes.

For me..since I do this full-time, over time I might have just developed discriminating ear. We pianist can be very particular. We can smell a not so good piano sample 2,000 miles away. I really expected a lot more for this piano.

I'm not trying be negative...but honest.

Maybe I just haven't heard enough of them, but most of the time, I'm just not immediately drawn in when I hear the way some sampled pianos sound but I really liked this one right from the start. Thank you for the share!

Ouch, you better find a comfortable chair to sit down and wait cause iLok is not going to be cracked any soon.
Whole different beast ivory or EW and this.
Made for different use probably but I'm no pianist so I better not talk about things I don't know well.
