This is a max for live audio effect. The water ripple simulation has two “listeners” that “listen” to slices of the simulation (one listener on the x-axis and one on the y). These listeners can either be an FFT filter or an oscillator bank providing results from lofi/harsh to smooth and pretty.

Rhythmorphic is a max for live MIDI Effect. It has four sequencers that can create “non”-euclidean sequences (patterns that are not evenly distributed) by morphing or warping a euclidean sequence by the topology (brightness values) of an image or video. This allows for complex and unique patterns to be generated and modulated.

Rob Papen is a well-known sound designer from the Netherlands and many of his sounds and plug-ins have become legendary. In the 90s he supplied several sound sets for the Microwave 1, which had then just seen the light of day. His “Techno” and “Signature” cards inspired many users and can therefore be heard on countless productions of the 90s. The two sound sets have now been freshly reworked by Rob Papen and optimized on the Waldorf M, for the Waldorf M.

Introduced in 1983, the JX-Programmable-Preset-Polyphonic analog synth from Roland was a big hit. Released alongside the Jupiter-6, both synths had a second oscillator which set them apart from the Juno. The JX-3P featured a button-only front panel and the classic chorus, whereas the Jupiter retained the knob and faders but had no built in effects.

Pathways is a sample-based Max for Live instrument that allows users to draw paths (made of small points) for sample playback over a spectrogram interface. The playback path (in blue) is based on which points were drawn first to last, allowing for all kinds of linear and nonlinear playback possibilities. It offers two playback modes that support a variable rate of playback (and freezing) without altering the pitch.

Mouth Play is a maxforlive instrument that offers unconventional shaping of a vocal tract together with a simulated glottis (brass model) or FM oscillator as a source. This offers a large variety of sonic possibilities: from voice-like sounds (animal, human, monster), breathy sounds, glitchy, harsh, rich/pretty, droney or rhythmic synth sounds. The tract filter has a variety of modulation sources allowing for various qualities and movements.

Iota is a granular looper that allows drawing of individual loops (as boxes) or grains over a spectrogram. The position and dimensions of the boxes correspond to the filtering and playback range of each loop. This allows for an intuitive approach to looping. Grain Forest is a maxforlive granular synth and effect. The granular playback and FX are driven by a simulation of a forest that evolves through DNA mixing and mutations over generations. Each tree in the forest is an independent grain or voice that has its own DNA which modulates the grain's playback and FX parameters depending on how you set up that tree species (up to 4 species).
