Like all convolution algorithms, it uses some CPU resources. However, multiple instances are quite useable on most computers (don't plan on loading it on every track unless you bounce them to audio though). I've used it since version 5 to the current and I love it. It's a trade-off honestly. If you want top of the line reverb on certain things, it's worth the CPU. If you just need a little wash... use a built in reverb

Top of the line convolution reverb, worth the CPU hit. Just make sure to be best friends with bouncing if you're using it on a few tracks particularly on an older computer. This is certainly something you want to own in your collection of useful effects, one of the best. Liquidsonics Reverberate is another convolution reverb and if you move to Cubase you can use Reverence which is yet another option. Aether is an algorithmic reverb not a convolution reverb so that won't help if that's what you're looking for.

Main registry key is missing. Please reinstall Altiverb 6.

I checked on Audiosex and they say that this is 32 bit only. Do they mean that your OS must be 32bit or is it ok to have a 64 bit OS and use a 32bit version of say Ableton Live?

Problem also here with cubase 5.53 64 bit on windows 7. Cubase hangs forever while trying to load Altiverb….. Darn it !
