Note: In Windows 7 x64, if you're experimenting an "Error, missing ilok authorization for pro Tools 10. please insert the necessary ilok and restart Pro Tools" make sure iLok drivers actually install, mine would not install over my old iLok drivers, solved it by doing this:
a) From Windows' Add or Remove Programs feature, uninstall any listing of "License Support" and "Interlok driver setup"
b) Reboot the system
c) Disconnect any iLoks connected to the system
d) Run and install Tpkdx64Setup.exe file found in the Drivers folder of the "PACE ILOK drivers installx64.zip" or the installx64.zip file linked here >> http://www.paceap.com/extensions/installers/x64/installx64.zip
It is very important that no anti-virus (especially Kaspersky) is running.
e) Restart the computer
f) Install LicenseSupportSetup64.exe file found in the Components folder of the installx64.zip file linked above. Again, make sure no anti-virus or internet monitoring software is running.
g) Restart the computer
For Windows 8 (I have not tried this but others have had success with this solution):
If you get error -9514, go to the unzipped Pro Tools installation folder, then Pro Tools Installer>ISSetupPrerequisites and install Avid Core Runtime, Avid HD Driver x64 and DigiDriver x64. Then run Pro Tools as administrator.

I don't know what everyones bitching about i used the PT HD10.0.0 release with no problems and now I'm using this version (10.3.2) and everything works perfectly. All my 3rd party plugins work as well as the ones included without a hitch. The only thing i will say is stay clear of the beta 10 patch because it was made by some idiot who took the beta 9 patch then added his own little not so amusing comments within the software as well as a background change. The beta 9 patch has the background changed aswell but i hacked the resource section of the .exe and changed it out for the proper grey background. Personally I use Pro Tools HD10 for multitrack recording live instruments and Cubase 6 for MIDI creation and editing.

Sadly there's still no MP3 bounce to disc option cause it's still ilok protected but you can bounce to wav or WMA then convert the resulting audio file with a 3rd party converter.
No DAW is perfect and it took me a while to get used to Pro Tools after years of using Cubase and REAPER. No one DAW is better than another it's purely down to personal preference and budget.

So in conclusion this works fine for me and has'nt crashed, glitched or frozen in 3 days of use. I did'nt get mine from here but it is the same release. Stear clear of the beta 10 patch and only use the beta 9 one. Run "Pro Tools 10.exe" as Administrator and use Windows 7 Compatability mode if your using Windows 7 x64 Edition. Turn off the auto save function in preferences to save ram and cpu.

I have a Delta Audio card which is M-Audio but this release will work on any wdm hardware using ASIO4ALL. You need at least 2GB of ram to even install it so 4GB min to run without problems. I'm using a AMD FX4100 Black Edition Quad Core 3.60Ghz and it's working fine even under load. But officially AMD CPU's are'nt compatable with any version of Pro Tools, Something to do with Pro Tools being optimized to make use of the hyperthreading technology found in Intel Processors.

Make sure that you install/update the Pace iLok driver at the beginning of the PT10 installer then reboot or it won't work. Then install the Pro Tools 10 Software making sure to also complete the C++ 2005 installation.
If you can't get this to work then you did something wrong, or you have unstable audio drivers installed or incompatable plugins installed.

Have you received any access violations yet. The big test is to select a piece of audio, enact Strip Silence (Control-U) and move the sliders around. Anonymous suggested testing Strip Silence on a clip with no media but that doesn't really test the function. If you have success then I am puzzled. Can't understand why some systems are glitch free and others are not (other than being an actual Pro Tools issue)

I would agree in many cases folks are recording a clip, throwing in a few plugins and calling it good! However, in some cases, everything actually does work glitch and error free (right smitty wink) You would think if the issue was with the crack itself, it would happen for everyone.

FWIW, I've been following thread since 10.3.0 V.R.(leak). What an amazing ride!! Glad to to that humankind can come together from many different countries and work toward a common goal. Amazing!!! Hope for the future!!

I'm just a singer/songwriter who enjoys recording, mixing and strives to get better at producing an end product that sounds professional. I also do a small business on the side to record others.

Anyway, I've tried several DAWs including Presonus, Samplitude, Cubase, Sonar and Reaper over the years. Fell in Love with Samp first but Reaper just plays so nice with all my plugs and never crashes. It's been my "go to" DAW for a couple of years now.

My question is this:

What does PT 10 have to offer that other DAWs don't(especially REAPER)? I've been playing around with PT since it was "available" but I haven't figured out what it can do that other DAWs cannot.

Please, only serious PT users respond to this...

Also, you should have knowledge of using other DAWs so you can compare

Not trying to start a war here! Just want to know if I'm missing something...

no working for me man,this is what i did..
1.- install Pace iLok driver"restart pc.

2.- Install (as Administrator) Avid Pro Tools v10.3.2

3.- Install (as Administrator) Avid Virtual Instruments 10

4.- Apply Avid Pro Tools 10.3.2 Patch (beta10) mukundas.exe run as Administrator

and im still getting this warning...Error,missing iLok authorization for "Pro Tools 10" Please insert the necessary iLok and restart Pro Tools.

ok now is workingggggggggg,the problem was the PACE drivers,but now is working fine.
