why is it so complicated to install? you have to add a key manually to the registry and there is no instruction to do it
I uninstall my version to finally reinstall it while waiting to find a version that is not intended for computer geniuses

You don't have to be a computer genius to write "how to add a key manually to the registry?" on google search.

I searched and failed before leaving this comment. i just want to install software not do research on adding a key to windows registry.
Usually for Vegas you just have to replace protein and the .exe

IF YOU GET THIS ERROR: "Error code: -59... An error occurred starting VEGAS Pro. There is no license to use this software."
I have a fix! Don't ask me what made me try what I did, but in the first shot, I got it licked!

1. Make sure the cracked .exe file (vegas180.exe) is set to Admin Rights
2. AFTER placing the Protein .dll file where it needs to go, right-click on it and make sure it's checked for read only.
3. Restart Vegas. All is well. (Whew! It took out all the regular video plugs that came with v.17 so I needed 18 to work or I was up the paddle without a creek!

It's not working for me, I got license not found error when I want to render the video.
  Member 18.09.2013 18
Try various variations regarding rendering. You might want to go to the Options -> preferences and in the VIDEO tab, switch out the rendering device. Mine was set to my Video Card - forget it. It was weird and blocky. Barely ran. Flipped it to off and it was fine.

Don't always render the same way. Go on YouTube and watch what's recommended for some recent, previous versions. Bon chance!

Worked!! Yes, a little bit confusing this time and zero instructions from them. Not a complain. Just an honest comment.

Anyone know the difference between this Vegas and the one below. It's the same version.
  Member 22.08.2016 210
This thing scans all my vst plugins on start up then crashes.... honestly they don't have an option to turn that off?
  Member 18.09.2013 18
Yeah, that's always been a buggy thing. A lot of Daws are the same, no? Trick is to rename ALL your VST folders to something like "(OLD) Vstplugins" (without the quotations, of course) and reboot the program (Vegas 18) and let it do its thing. THEN it will fire up no issues. Go back and rename your VST folders back to what they were. After that, you can pick and choose what the default vst folders/plugins you want to be available.

(Sometimes, with some systems, temporarily removing the OFX folder inside of the VEGAS folder prior to starting it up for the first time will help. Once it starts up okay, you can put the OFX folder (or the contents) back and it'll be fine.
