Introduced in 1980 as the ultimate polyphonic and programmable live performance Synthesizer, the Roland JUPITER-8 is capable of some of the richest, most powerful tones and textures imaginable. Powered by Roland's game-changing ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) Modeling, the Roland JUPITER-8 software synthesizer is a perfect recreation of a legend, capable of the same incredibly smooth pads, earth-shaking basses, and emotional leads as its hardware counterpart, now available to the world through Roland Cloud!

Perfect "ACB" recreation of original legendary Roland JUPITER-8 Synthesizer
Up to 8 voices polyphony (based on computer power)
Full hardware control of all functions available by USB connection to Roland SYSTEM-8 Synthesizer
Serves as computer-based editor for JUPITER-8 PLUG OUT (pre-loaded in Roland SYSTEM-8 Synthesizer)
VST and AU compatible

Respecting Royalty
Only through our breakthrough ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) Modeling could Roland revist this ruler of all synths. With the Roland Jupiter-8 Software Synthesizer, every sound and performance element of this polyphonic powerhouse has been recreated with meticulous attention to detail. From the richness of the JP-8's 16 analog oscillators to the incredibly-smooth 2 or 4-pole resonant filters, from cross modulation to oscillator sync, every parameter is present, and every sonic nuance has been respected. Just play the Jupiter-8 Software Synth for 5 minutes and you'll quickly understand why the original has been heard on chart-topping tracks by icons including Jean Michel Jarre, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears, Thomas Dolby, Underworld, and more.

PLUG OUT to the Roland SYSTEM-8
Taking your creative experience to the next level, Roland's innovative PLUG OUT functionality used in combination with the powerhouse AIRA SYSTEM-8 hardware synthesizer opens up a world of new possibilities. USB-connect the SYSTEM-8 hardware to your computer and enjoy inspiring one-knob-per-function sound-shaping and performance control of the JUPITER-8 soft-synth running in your DAW (the SYSTEM-8 can also serve as a high resolution AUDIO and MIDI Interface for your computer!). When it's time to perform, PLUG OUT transfers the JUPITER-8 synth and all your settings to the SYSTEM-8 hardware- Roland reliablity and no computer needed!

You need TEAM R2R Roland Cloud Emulator to run.

This is a joke plugin which supports only 44,100 and 48,000Hz rate.

it will be interesting to see a video comparing Arturia Jupiter 8 emulation, and this Roland version, made by people who have access to all electronics schemes, components, values, hidden tricks, etc.

this roland version should at least be 95% faithful to the original hardware.

it will be a great way to see how good Arturia emulation engine truly is.

ps. just read that online authorization PER instance/session these plugins use.. WOW

next step :
having a camera pointing to the monitor, so a staff member from the company can skype and see how the user uses their app.

Hmm, dont know why, but 64bit VST3 version of this Plugin doesnt accept any parameter or preset changes. VSTi Version works.

I had read somewhere that these Roland plugins felt kinda rushed, so I'd like to hear more opinions from the fine folks here before I go clogging up my vst folder with even more stuff.

Thanks funtime and R2R! You guys are winning!

edit: How could I forget to add this iconic image?

Really think a good emulation starts with the sampling of the raw oscillators. And note for note sampling of them rather than time stretching the sample for notes. I feel it effects the harmonics of the vst. Especially on lower notes you lose that fatness. I know that is what sonicprojects did with the opx.

Well then think again, OSCs waveforms are only sampled on a per note basis in... sample libraries.
What synthesizers do is they... synthesize the sound.
Algorithms in vitual analogues are just engineered to be as close as possible to the original oscs.
As a matter of fact, it's all dark

lolwat? sampling? talk about missing the point of *analog* synthesizers. Live waveform generation is the only way to even attempt to 'emulate' analogs, and frankly it can only ever (so far) mimic it in a superficial way anyway. The depth and response is never quite there vs real analog hardware.

Thanks !
It´s a pity, that zooming (+) the GUI, it misses part of the graphical definition...
It also consumes maaaany resources by now

Forst of all thanx to R2R Team for this incredible work.

Does anybody else got overload CPU? Im running it on Ableton Live 9.7 and only put it on a track increases the CPU to 200%
Got same issue with all Roland Plugins!

No sampling here bruh... ACB is the truth!!!

Crazy, crazy HIGH CPU usage! Every bit as much, if not more, than DIVA (Devine). I really like the sounds, but CPU is crazy. Same goes for the Jupiter 8, others are ok, but the two "best" are ridiculously CPU intensive. I wonder if it's Roland's coding or is it because they're cracked?

i think something wrong in these plugins they create some noise sounds for Jupiter and Juno.

is something wrong with the plugin, you just load it, cpu goes to 60%, you press one single note cpu going to 99%

Then is useless...

Yes, it is useless. On my system it eats up 60% of th CPU when idle (!) and about 80% when playing, in Reaper. Diva, for example, doesn't eat CPU when idle (and it is not as hungry when playing).

Total disappointment.

The plugin defaults to eight voices. Click the blue options button and change to two voices or four voices so the CPU load becomes reasonable.

Works okay in Reaper with around 8% CPU load in two voice mode on an i5 CPU.
