Idk why there is even a macOS tag in the article, thats only the XPs, and those are crossplattform.

BUUUT your old projects that used vanguard 1 arent abandoned!!! Just like nexus, any instance of a previous version will retain the original parameters and sound identical.... to me thats worth 80 bucks to remake my classics from garageband when I used vanguard 1 and made my own cool presets!

Vanguard is really a synth and not a romper. It has been used in so many classic hits and frankly in a lot of recent hits its not even funny!

ok but at what point is 175gb of rompler sounds of about every possible sound imagineable versus a synth, making a difference? Unless you are really into creating your own sounds. Just interesting how they have 2 products like this under their name. I'd like to see the sales of nexus vs vanguard. Look at Nexus, it went through 4 iterations, and Vanguard was abandoned and then surprise, still on version 4. They obviously had more sales of Nexus which is probably why, so just curious as what this brings to the table. Then add Serum, phaseplant, vital, etc. Nothing is special to me anymore after having Roli and Equator 2 tbh.

Everyone has their preference, and there's a ton of overlap - ofc - in a market saturated with options. One person's trash is another's favorite synth. But you're comparing romplers and synths. One situation might call for a sample-based preset; another may require a more custom, user-made synth patch. There's plenty of room for all of it.

1) N3 is really good just to grab a sound without thinking about it. (admit it, its a good thing.)

2) Vanguard lets you actual shape the sound from the beginning and plus its nostalgia with always online shabang.

well you probably didnt know what a daw was 14 years ago like us old heads who used this in 2008-9. When the computers started switching over to 64 bit processing and 32bit was pushed aside, all the songs we had made with this synth were essentially empty, because you couldn't use the synth or make it work with 32lives. With that said, refx does upgrades right, the old instances of the original synth are replaced with the new version, with all parameters unaffected. NI and other garbage manufactures, didnt do this. Take for instance battery 3.... NI wants to make you buy 4 and then remake every project that used 3, same thing with reaktor? NI is a bunch of retards, refx gets it right again in a very high iq way.
