Nothing against your post, Fantastic, but...
...if you had told me that anime would be one more aspect of pop culture that would be crammed under the umbrella of "Hip Hop" I would have suggested that you seek professional psychiatric help. Leave it to the Mass-Marketing Empire we reside in to neuter Hip Hop like they did punk Rock so as to make it safe for The Masses.

i get what you are saying but this is definitely more of the underground scene pushing this sound. especially gen z and some millennials . thats where you get simpsonwave and amv with "lofi anime beats" from. at least that is where i first encountered this more modern fusion (mid 2015) it's people that where under 5k pushing this new sound that wasn't just restricted to shonen anime it was more open to anything inspired from japanese media. most of them including myself grew up around the time where these anime dubs where in heavy rotation so i feel we get more nostalgic earlier in life for some reason hence putting these references into music.

as far as all these sample pack labels making packs like these now, i feel i am partially to blame. i was one of the first to start the lofi and anime related content trend. no one even dared to use the word kawaii until they saw my product lol
