Wow...Awesome. Old, but Gold.
Would that be possible to get the ACID WAV version?

Sorry my bad, seem there is no WAV format in this bundle. Only RMX and REX.

wow .. if I had any HD with room left

I love REX loops, especially with RMX or Dr Octorex, there's sick things to do with these

remember the days when Rex files with Recycle was cutting edge?? When i first saw recycle i was like NO WAY...this is some kind of sorcery... Now Ableton Really has improved the technology with WARP and Serato Sample has by far the cleanest time stretching ive heard so far.. just a pity you change the stretch markers...

I havent used Propellarhead products in years so i ... what can you do with rex files these days?

Totally agree about Srerato's Time 1 Pitch. Fantastic sound clarity. Not sure Serato Sample does REX though. can't remember. Need to check.

I never used Recycle but you can use REX fuiles in Stylus (actually, this collection has RMX versions as well which are directly usable in Stylus) and if you're an FL Studio user, Slicex loves REX if I'm not wrong. Plenty of other slicing tools in DAWs probably do too. Not sure about groove tools such as Regroover: I don't think that one takes REX. Someone please confirm if you have it.

oh yea forgot about stylus... i used it once years ago, never spent enough time with it to get a grasp of what it can do well though

Well worth a revisit. I had never used Stylus and a few answers I got on Audiosex convinced me it was wort a try. Still brilliant for mangling loops and with that kind of collection of RMX file, you should have fun.

If you like the pattern-style approach in Ableton then you would have a lot of fun using these REX loops on an iPad. Get a standard 128GB iPad, purchase Korg Gadget 2 and the Stockholm addon (it's Dr Octo Rex for the iPad!!), they're offering both for half the price until Aug 31st.
It's a long time that I had this much fun with REX loops on my sofa.
Also works 100% on iPhone if you don't mind the small screen.

Thanks @talula. This release is a great excuse to use Dr. Octorex which is one of my favorite vst ever

Great reminder. Thanks a lot. Shame they don't do it as a VST, but Slicex will do.

When I was trying out DAWs some years back--after ditching FL Studio and finally landing on Studio One--I remember using the Octo Rex. Even though I chop my breaks by hand (so to speak,) I have to admit, that thing *is kind of a beast, and a helluva lot of fun to mess with. I think that every DAW has some plugin (usually proprietary, unfortunately,) that stands out.
Hell, I still use Edison all of the time (thankfully, not proprietary;) it may be the only thing I can get behind that comes from Image Line.

It is a freaking beast, I got Reason Lite just to use it. Dr. Octorex is a beast.

Not a discussion for here but I'd be interested in why you think that (about ImageLine I mean).

If it´s a problem regarding space I can recomment you just get the REX files!

Then you can always make the RMX format yourself with the SAGE Converter that comes with Stylus RMX.
You can't have everything; where would you put it?

Bonjour Monsieur Blier,

It's on the list but it's missing in the archive. Well spotted.

I'm extracting the RMX bundle to see if it's there (missing in the REX bundle so far).

Yes it's in the RMX bundle. Just called Chroma REX but since the other Chroma REX: Textured Guitars is also present, I think it's the right one.

Talula, I don't know if you have the Chroma REX: Electronic Guitars in REX format only to upload as an additional file. Otherwise, if someone has Stylus installed, is it possible to to save REX loops from it? Failing that, a version with WAVs can be sliced easily enough.

1. RMX to DAW to WAV to REX

2. Another possibility could be Chicken System Translator. I know it supports both formats in its latest version

The only way to convert audio *to* REX/RX2 is by either using the ReCycle app or from within recent versions of Reason/Reason Lite. You don't need to adjust slices here if you use CS Translator afterwards...
What you *can* do: Use the RMX xml files and let ChickenSys Translator re-write the RX2 file headers to place the slices at the correct file positions.

Downloading again to try but I got an error in part 8. Anyone else? Reaper will batch convert rex .

No. Both RMX and REX extract fine, so try again after re downloading that part but sometimes the corruption comes from an earlier volume than stated.

Yup seems to be fine after re-down. Thanks. Some great loops included!
