our Contributor said to me that previous poll might be compromised my those who post mirrors;
since the results was like 91% (to keep mirrors) against 9% (to dismiss), the idea feels quite likely.

The overall noise around this thing is going on because:
- Contributors don't want anyone to post mirrors to their posts (for a well known reason...);
- I'm supporting mirrors because i don't want posts to die;
- now we decided to disable mirrors for Contributors only (you won't be able to post mirrors to Contributor's post), with condition that Contributors will keep their posts alive and reupload links themselves.

But, as i always said, AudioZ belongs to all of you, members;
so it's up to you to decide.

The current poll is a widget that i've got from a Poll Service Web-site, it's very well protected, so those who want to cheat and make multiple vote, won't be able to.

Simply choose your option, press Vote! and you'll be forwarded to another page with some text on russian and CAPTCHA - you know the drill, put those numbers in there and press the button.

my personal opinion on this matter:
We probably should remove the option to post mirrors to Contributor's posts.
Many of them buy stuff themselves, and expect to get the money back on downloads... I'm not saying it's a good thing to make money on uploads, but the fact is - this is what keeps them going.

Personally, I only care for the posts to stay alive. If they promise to provide link updates, then it's definitely Win/Win for both Members and Contributors.

and those who post mirrors, can still post them to other members posts.

Usually I use links given by contributors but if only one of their links die I use mirrors links because if I'm downloading something and a link die then I can't complete the download. Now, don't matter if you decide to remove the optional links SAiNT, but uploaders have to keep alive their links otherwise all is useless! wink

look .. those mirrors are useful for ppls usin different premiumhosters .. so if somebody is posting any VST(i) or a sample pack only for ONE HOSTER its not that useful for us members .. there are a lots of ppls who submit their posts with several different hosters .. but their are even ppl who only support one hoster because they only uploaded to their hoster who they got a premiumaccount for ..

in that case additional mirrors are VERY useful because with those additional mirrors we got more different hosters .. because everyone is using another hoster to get the Packs/VST (example the ppl from the USA) ..

this widget thing is confusing! I voted weeks ago, are we supposed to be voting all over again, or what? I just tried, but it says I already voted. So the old votes count?? Is that it???

As for the issue itself, I say KEEP the mirrors -- competition is good for the site and the people that visit here. If the uploaders don't like it, maybe they should find some other way to earn a few bucks. I don't think we should cater to people that are getting grubby about the posting of links -- it's about the sharing, not the links.

i have idea you keep mirrors plugin activate, but for contributers you must do this :

if contributer post a product mirrors will be desactivated for while 8 hours or what than after time will be activated and everyone can post mirrors that's it.

When talking about mirrors, an important aspect is that more and more contributors force AudioZ members to buy an account on some file hoster by uploading files that are just too large to download for free, or by deliberately blocking download for free users (!). This is a really annoying trend, especially for musicians with very little money who are lucky to own a computer with internet access at all.

In these cases I see mirrors as an absolute *must*.

Mirror links aren't that bad because if you look at older posts many show just MEGAUPLOAD or FILESONIC links - all dead now! phones
That is what happens when folks just copy/paste links from other sites!

In my opinion Torrent files are still much better 'cause i've found some stuff from 5-7 years ago, still available! yes wink

But a contributor should have the option to disable mirror links - especially when he sees that someone makes money with them. There are quite some users here who take advantage from posting mirrors. All of my links i have posted are just for sharing, not for profit.

Kookaboo: that's what iam talking about contributer's have to disable mirrors for example for 1 day or 1 hours and than enable it to someone post mirrors like that he profit in this time and other's make live links.

but in my opinion i sware a god contributers get back their money they spend in samples and product's in one month. coz most of downloaders will download their links.

and most of google traffic that came here also 99% will go on to his links.

so contributer's will get 80% of downloads.

and after month all links of contributer's remain getting money for long time long time.

that's it my idea.

so mirrors are 80% usefull to make audioz alive.

what if disaster of filesonic came back again how audioz will be next ask your self.

I think that mirrors must use different hoster from original post(and from others mirrors too...), in this way can be useful,otherwise no mirrors from nobody yes

as far as earning the money back...it's possible for the uploader to show proof of purchase..receipts?? there isn't great money in filesharing, it's much better for a few to earn something small then for one to take all..i like the mirrors. unless there is a minimum of 8 links to choose from like strong sound/discover.

I often find with large downloads that when a few links are missing, then the mirrors are worth their weight in gold. Hold on, mirrors have no weight, but are still worth a lot when things go wrong.

You gotta love that avatar on the post above mine, I thought that was a real bug for a second. LOL

Just a downloaders opinion.

It would be nice and more profitable to some, If all up-loaders would have options of smaller downloads for those who do not want premium accounts.

Still that member is frequently posting mirrors on nearly every post there is..

I always try to use the contributers links

But in some cases it can be good with mirrors as i have noticed lately that many post have links where you must have a premium account to dl the links.

I dont want to buy a premium account for one month just so i can dl from that host and then i might not use that account anymore.

I also saw that one host have a premium account for one day and weeks which is very good sadly though most of the hosts only have monthly accounts.

Keep the mirrors, they are more than usefull to everyone.

We all know the reasons why this issue is raised but I really don't think the uploaders can claim exclusivity to anything they post, if anything I find it pretty cheeky to even ask considering what they are doing in the first place. I do really appreciate what they do, and have had more than my share from them, but imo I think your just getting greedy now. The fact you want mirrors removed shows that people must be using them or find them usefull for whatever reason. Leave it as it is, it's not like the scene is guna die from it.

but never remove mirrors.
