Discuss how to post freeware on Audioz? screenshot
I would like to keep posting freeware on Audioz, but i know its kind of stupid to have only cyberlockers, which have strong restrictions. then i have some other ideas or suggestions regarding posting freeware.

Here are few rules, which sound fair to me.

- we should put freeware into the archive section, to not fill up the Fresh section with useless stuff in the eyes of most members.
- provide always a zippyshare link and a direct download link (if you can find one!), if not zippyshare will do. other cyberlockers can be used still, but zippyshare or the direct download has to be included
- provide homepage link to the developer of the freeware
- Tagged with [FREE] in the topic title
- mirrors open

Would be even better, if we could create a dedicated section for freeware. So people could browse for freeware. AudioSex posting freeware always ends getting lost in all of the other threads posted. (Or some kind of filter feature to filter [FREE] containing posts, i would actual use this to filter out trap sample packs )

Would like to know the opinions about that ideas?

fixed some wording issues. SAiNT

I like freeware posts just simply because it keeps me up to date with stuff that's out there. I think it would be great to have a freeware section in Audioz. Your rules sound fair, as long as there's a link to the developer's home page I think that's enough.

I hope you will fully support this too, and not write just "Free" at the end of the title as you've always done.
Just to make it catch other people eyes better :)

No, other people aren't fool. We know what's free and what's not.

Of course you are.
But would you be ready to post in this section if ONLY zippyshare links are allowed?

i agree Articstorm,
freeware post should only allow links the dev site and only allow zippyshare, in case of the tedious task of following them on soundcloud, like-ing their Facebook page and then commenting on twitter.

i think you missread, zippyshare and other other cyberlocker links (uploaded, rg, etc), but zippyshare has to be always included.

i hate these facebook, twitter releases too.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

I’m against free stuff on homepage.
That’s because audioz rapidly become a garage sale with all the junk possible, look what happened in the last months (read integral affair). With that said, yes we could organize a submenu, a free zone, in a way that does not pollute team releases and all the good warez we are all grateful of.

@Articstorm I like the zippyshare idea on free links

well thats why my idea was to put all freeware stuff in the archive, i mean i hardly use the archive and that we would have a clean fresh releases blog.

the best idea would be still the freeware section, which people could disable/enable or some kind of filter would also do!

i was just gonna suggest making a seperate freeware subsection for plugins in the software section and then i read @Articstorm 's comment

Zippyshare yes, but no paid links.
Then we shall see who's stilll eager to post in this section for "free".

I agree, as f3r stated as long as it's software.... :)

I'm going to leave my opinion, if it's software or updates, presets, patches (.nicnt) I totally agree. Many times I find out here that software existed.
And I'm happy about it.

But I'm not happy if it's SAMPLES ..
There are millions and millions of samples, and millions more can be made.
There are already pages for that. (Looperman) for example.

Then if they were FREE samples, commercial one, or underground ones?
That is the work of the moderators ... approve the contents. Or DO NOT approve.

Very good Articstorm idea.
I like it

Yes please, come along with that freeware. But I agree, only with original links, only use Cyberlockers if the profits are used to buy other software.
And then, SAiNT should actually expand the menu with a Freeware category, and change the 'Software' category in 'Pro Software' (short for made by professionals), or Try before buy. It can't hurt to remind people, including myself..

change the 'Software' category in 'Pro Software' (short for made by professionals)

That's not so simple as a lot of freeware is actually made by "pro" developpers , like voxengo, TDR etc...

My 2 cents, not that it adds much in terms of new suggestions
(p.s. some of this has been paraphrased from a private convo I had with Olymoon almost a year ago).

- One-hundred-percent agree. FREE stuff in the archive section for sure
- Zippyshare should be an absolute requirement
- Official link to developer's download link should be on the peeplink
- [FREE] tag could be a requirement (and maybe a category of its own?)
- and of course! Mirrors open!
- Maybe ban this on 'FREE' sample libraries!? And only on software (where credit is due?)

On a side note, could put money on TeamVTX's comments if/when they come in :) <3

i only typed the ideas i had in and waited for more like yours.

you mean for sure these sample radar packs, but exclude for sure flintpope libraries?

sometimes there is no dev link to the software or whatever, so one could then say to use zippyshare as alternative.

thanks for your imput.

a category of its for freeware would be the best solution, but maybe hard to implement?! i dont know, i have no idea how the audioz software works.

I have nothing more to comment because other posters did it for me pretty much. So I just "+1"ed the comments that convey my thoughts.

I suppose many people feel the same, that's why there aren't many comments here. The solution is pretty obvious, eh?

I really like the recommended rules and agree that freeware does have a place here. I'd love to see something like what you suggested implemented.

Agree.

While we are at it,
Why not creating a section 'legit group buy', where maybe some guys/mods could talk with some devs, so they could print a special % voucher (public voucher, otherwise the dev would know who's coming from where..), for those interested... ?

Imagine there are 100 guys here who would love to buy a 50$ Valhalla plugin.
Somebody would talk to them, and ask 'hey, we have 100 guys who want to buy your plug x. Can you do a little promotion code for us ?'

With some luck, Valhalla would emit a 45% voucher, available a few days, and visible on the group buy thread.
Actually, 147 guys will use the code and buy a plugin.

Valhalla makes some nice cash.
Some guys from az go legit and buy that plugin
* the evil pirates also buy legit stuff, some devs won't no longer be able to talk trash about them*

Is this possible ?
